Mh, unfortunately I don't like both songs much. Easily the two weakest songs on the record. But I voted for Burning To Love.

You are only half right, Bernd.
Not a fan of Higher Ground, but Burning To Love is a fine song. A little hokey in a couple places, but a good song nonetheless. Easy vote for me.

Easy vote for me too, but for Higher ground. I love the new version of the song, one of my favourite songs of the album. Burning to love is a little boring and unattractive for me.

Not a real Higher Ground fan.
Thoug Burning To Love disappointed me a bit on the CD, I think it's a very good song, and I loved it live, last year. So, burning To Love !

Ha, another tricky one(!!); love the idea behind Higher Ground but to be honest i prefer the more acoustic arrangement when the song was first unearthed a few years back (when Heather makes reference to the track, it's as if it was newly written for this album, when of course it isn't actually a new song!); for me, and with repeated listens, Burning to Love is simply beautiful (plus love the arrangement), so for me, Burning to Love!!

Wasn't a big fan of the song when she originally released it a few years ago, either. The music is kinda meh for me, but the lyrics don't do anything for me either. Seems to be wildly divergent opinion on these songs, though - this is turning out to be the closest match yet!

During last tournaments, Cass voice counted only a half vote, which was frustrating.
It's good he can fully vote again. Otherwise, I think there might have been a matter in the words you chose or the interpretation you made frmo the words. Everyone can share his/her opinion, though no one as to. It's always interesting to read it when other members justify their choices, but, of course, there's no teachers, no pupils, and no orders to give.

It was all meant in good fun. I honestly think Higher Ground is the weakest song on the album (or my least favorite, anyway), but of course you're entitled to your own opinion. I was rather hoping you'd reply and talk about why you like Higher Ground and say which parts of the lyrics you like. Part of the reasons for the tournaments is to encourage discussion about the songs and get us to look at them again, maybe in a different context. Sorry if I wasn't clear about my tone, but I don't think I made any personal attacks.

You're getting weird.
Cass is always happy to exhchange opinions, and always curious to understand what people like / don't like in a song. He likes to discuss about songs and opinions, especially when opinions are different than his. Everyone here has disagreed at least sometimes with him during song tournaments or other topics. Noone ever reacted like you just did, as far as I know. As I said, none is forced to justify his vote or whatever else. You're creating you own problems and you're getting angry all alone.
