I want to visit Bermuda this September, and since some of you have been there, maybe you could help me with the preparations.

The biggest challenge for me is where to stay. My boyfriend will go with me, so we need a room for two.
I don't want to stay in a big hotel, I'd prefer a small bed and breakfast, or a self-catering appartement.

I thought it might be good to stay somewhere near Hamilton, because the lonely planet says, thats where nearly all the busses stop, and we want to do as much sightseeing as there is to see. =)
Oh, and some beach in walking distance would be great.

So, maybe you could tell me where you've been and how you liked it. Thanks in advance!

Gerd has been in Bermuda twice, once in summer, and once in winter. I'm sure he can answer your questions.

I like the Oxford House. Very close to the bus station. Right in Hamilton. 1 minute walk to The Lobster Pot restaurant, which is a great place for lunch or dinner (reservations 441-292-6898). It is Bermuda's oldest fish eatery! The Oxford House is also very close to the ferry terminal, which you will find most useful.

Here is the website for the Oxford House:

Yes it is a bit expensive. Welcome to Bermuda!!!

Also, The Little Pomander Guest House is an inexpensive option. 441-236-8332
The closest beach is Elbow Beach; it's a 5 minite scooter ride or a 15 minute walk.

When using the bus, you'll quickly learn: Pink heads to Hamiltom, blue, away. You'll know what I mean once you are there!!!
