I kind of tried to put my thoughts on the forum this afternoon, but something must have gone wrong.

I'm kind of puzzeled why Heather plays 5 concerts in a small country like Belgium. I admit, she's a bit of a favorite on the radiostations, but that's not enough.
I have been checking out the venues on the Net where she's gonna play. These are all very small places. Not like the AB or Elisabethzaal.
My guess is that Heather is going to present something special to the audience. Don't get me wrong, she always gives her best, but... how could I say this? In a small venue the distance between the artist and the audience (us) is much smaller. On a big stage, it's Heather letting her music do the talking. I kind of hope she will try to get us more into the songs, into the proces of songwriting. Afterall, she is a singer-songwriter. And a damn good one too (and I'm NOT saying that because I'm writing on this forum). I kinda hope she will explain some of her songs to us. How does a song get together, how does she choose the lyrics, the metafors (don't know the english word) she uses. What does An Angel or redbird represent for her... A nice song could be Valley of sound, I guess it's about driving to a concert... (that's what I hear in it). Maybe she is seeing this song on other level. I don't know, but I always was kind of interested in this song.
But what I want to say is, that Heather will be much more exposed to us. For a real artist, the smaller gigs are much more rewarding (not talking about $ or €). But I have had the chance to talk to some famous people (Hiatt, Springsteen, Reed, Murphy). They all kind of said that the small gigs, acoustic or not, are much more difficult and rewarding.
That's why I'm really happy Heather is doing small gigs. I hope she will be talking a bit about her life (not the personal stuff), but the things that move her emotionally. things that get her to write songs. To take us into the song. To have us rethink her music, re-invent... Bruce Springsteen did a few gigs like that a few years back. thanks to the magic of bootlegging I heard it. But it struck me how he handled it. People could also ask questions (a bit similiar like the storytellers dvd released earlier this year). Some questions were really crappy. But most questions he had to think about. He had to do some reflections on his own work.
It would be nice if Heather could take us, the small audience, into her songs. she also writes poems, so why not. Like she did during Verona a few years back...
Maybe I'm hoping to much, but hey....? The future isn't written yet.

Heather could do another Elisabethzaal gig, or maybe two, but that's not as intimate as doing such small venues.

I guess they are just small, short , acoustic gigs (like the Storm tour), without support act.

And she'll probably consider it more of a holiday. She'll probably spend a week or two weeks in Belgium.

Only I don't understand is why she doesn't do it in Germany (yet).

I thought everything already knew that this is a more intimate tour. I have no information yet if it will be with a small band or even Heather alone.

So this tour will for sure be different to the previous tours in august and october.

Don't worry Gerd, I don't know anything either of the coming tour. I was writing down my hopes of what it could be.
And no Germany? I don't think she will forget you guys. Gemany (and holland and Belgium) has always been very kind to Heather. in the interview a few days back in the Bermuda Post she said herself she has to do shorter tours. So maybe she'll just take a break for a few weeks, spend some time with husband and son and come back to Germany. Who knows? I don't think you guys have to worry.
