I've recently been working on my first proper studio recordings. It's essentially my solo project, which I decided to call Glass Island. The aim is to make professional recordings of the songs I've been releasing as demos (which I have been sharing on this forum too). The first EP, titled Secular is now available at Bandcamp (and also on YT):

https://glassislandpoland.bandcamp.com/album/secular-ep

There's now also a website for the project:
www.glassisland.pl

And a FB profile:
https://www.facebook.com/glassislandpoland

For the HN fans who are unfimiliar with my stuff, you may want to start with the song Icy Tenderness.

Ok, I've gone on for too long. I do hope you'll check this stuff out and, of course, comments are welcome.

And I hope you don't mind the plug!

Good luck for me as well.

I think the song "For No one" has a very close connection how it developes to the song of one of Alanis Morissette

Thank you guys! The work was put on hold for a while but now that there are fewer restrictions, we're resuming recording next week. I hope to have the whole album ready by late Summer/early Autumn.

I've just uploaded a little bit of studio footage of me tracking guitars for a new tune. It's not much but I think it's rather fun :)

Interesting process, interesting video.

I guess the new tune will be a bright one.

Kind of, yeah, there's a little bit of light and shade in it. Come to think of it, there's a line in it wchich goes "I dreamed of dying" so it's not all that bright :P

Btw, tt's actually a song that was originally intended for Strange Momments, which is far from over as a project, if anyone asks :D

We've had a few CDs produced for promotional purposes mainly, although we've also made it available on Bandcamp:

i meant "brillant", not "bright". It's the same word in French.

I'll purchase the EP on Friday, since bandcamp is waving its share that day.

I posted a link on my Facebook account.
I purchased your EP on Bandcamp.
Wonderful music.
I think I am a very good lyricist (at least in French), but you're a real musician. Great, great job. .

Thank you so much, it's always great to get praise from a fellow songwriter. I've never been a natural musician, always more of a song-writer/-desigener but I've been working hard on my skills especially in the last 5 years and now I finally got more confident with my playing and singing and can actually work very fast in the studio. Btw, about 70%-75% of the album has now been recorded.

========================================

I got one of your EPs too :) And I actually prefer when you sing in French even though my French is almost non-existent. But my mum is pretty good, so when I go see her I'll play her the songs and she'll help me understand the lyrics :D

========================================

Btw, today is the 15th anniversary of a gig I played with my old band Lavender (which also featured the bass player who's now in Glass Island) and I decided to release a recording from that gig I'd recently discovered. It's a cover of King Crimson's Red. Probably a hard listen for a typical Heather Nova fan, but for all its flaws you can hear the dedication (and sweat! it was boiling hot in the club and 35C outside) of those four young players:

I'm now and them asked to translate my songs.
I wrote int on my list of things to do this summer.

After resting a bit, because I've been feeling exhausted these last days.

I've just edited a video of the first (and so far only) live performance of the song Secular, which took place in February 2019 at an acoustic concert by Strange Moments - my other band. The name "Glass Island" hadn't been conceived yet but the material was already being created. Marzena Słowik is doing BVs.

Thank you, you're too kind! I thought the riff sounds a bit awkward when played solo on the acoustic, but yeah, I guess it is a pretty decent versio indeed :)
