The concert in Berlin is announced as a "showcase". Does this mean there will be tickets sold or is this for press only?

I just saw this and was about to post it! Beat me to it, Ride. :)

The not-so-great English translation via google:

Hamburg - Heather Nova logs four years after "300 Days At Sea" with a new album back. This is titled "The Way It Feels" and appears on May 29 about Embassy Of Music in the distribution of Warner Music.

"The Way It Feels" is now the ninth studio album by Heather Nova, she has taken in Charleston, South Carolina. Josh Kaler and Jay Clifford were responsible for the arrangements. "The Way It Feels" may contain traces of Americana and folk Dark, but are at Heather Nova continues to rock and pop at the center.

Heather Nova says about "The Way It Feels": "Please listen to this record as an album on today make people any more albums, as was customary, the attention span of people is shorter, and the whole world is looking.. after the quick kick. It has become a real art to make a real album. So Leaning back to you, close your eyes and enjoy the journey. "

On the international music scene Heather Nova appeared for the first time in the early 90s. Her second album, "Oyster", rose on both sides of the Atlantic in the charts and earned the artist from Bermuda her first world tour. This was followed by global chart positions of their singles and appearances at festivals in Europe and the USA. In addition, some of their songs were played in several TV shows and used for movie soundtracks.

Heather Nova toured the beginning of her career up to eight months a year. Emerged in the wake of three live albums: "Blow," "Live From The Milky Way" and "Wonderlust". Last Heather Nova was in the spring of 2014 in Germany on the go.

Also for the autumn 2015 again a Heather Nova tour planned, the musician also occurs on April 20 at a showcase at the Admiral Palace Berlin.

There are echos of Americana, a bit of dark folk a banjo and some pedal steel here and there

I think this sounds very promising! Pretty curious!

How do you like the cover art by Tarik Mikou?

I must say I liked it from the first second I saw it. Is this the same Tarik Mikou who once did the "Glow Star" fansite in the 1990's? Wow. Then he is not just an artist, but also a fan. http://www.ping.be/~dirkjaco/pages/links.htm

He also did once some Bran Van 3000 artwork: http://www.tarikmikou.com/design.html

I think I like it? Not sure yet. Maybe it'll grow on me. The only covers I definitely like are the ones she painted.

The album name seems a bit plain but ah well.

I honestly can't believe how low key and non existent the build up to this new album is :( nothing further from heather other than the initial postponement of the album; u would think even her facebook banner would have the new cover pic... what about sound clips, the release date is now so close but still nothing :/ I just can't wait to hear the new material, but of the tracks she's played live already (the ones included on the album) I don't really see any of those as being standout choices for first single...

I hope we get more information in the next two months.

About singles: not sure if there will be any. First, she says by herself, we should listen to this "as an album"; this doesn't sound like singles. Second, with The Jasmine Flower she already had an album without a single, so it wouldn't be new for her.

Has she ever really had a standout single? Walk This World, Maybe An Angel, and London Rain, maybe. Perhaps Truth and Bone. And Someone New and Gloomy Sunday perhaps, but those weren't off of her albums.

Since then, nothing, really. So why force it?

The Jasmine Flower is probably my favorite of her albums from the last decade and a half so I think I'd prefer she not try to force it and just do her thing. Experimenting is good (DSTSY), but trying to make something to be popular doesn't seem to be her thing.

This is coming from someone who liked all the songs on 300 Days except Higher Ground and SALPOT, though, so take that for what you will.

My favorite of the preview songs was Sleeping Dogs so I'm happy that's on the album. It was a very TJF kind of song, of course.

It is funny that there's no preorder on amazon.de or anything. I guess they haven't really started the rollout for the album yet and the couple articles we've seen are real early hints.

I think it is funny that in almost every press release about a new Heather album in the last years, they write: "this is her xth album and probably her best so far". And so do they now.

Well, promo talk.

I'm surprised that Serengeti is missing. She played it quite a lot the last tour, i think, and it seemed to work well.

New Song!

On Amazon.de, "Earth Is My Heaven" is the bonus track for The Way It Feels, not Serengeti like on iTunes.

Also, you can listen to 30-second previews of all songs from The Way It Feels on amazon.de:

Heather has included the word "dragon" in her lyrics for the first time in This Humanness!

"And some would chase the dragon when they're feelin' weak"

I have not clicked on these sites, but if you search "Heather Nova The Way It Feels" on Google, you will get several results on the first page claiming to lead to the leaked album. I'm guessing it may well be leaked now.

90 second clips up on UK iTunes... I'm sad to say I'm not loving it :( the first ever Heather album that hasn't cast it's spell on me... that may change after repeated listens to the whole body of work, but for now I'm finding it very lacklustre, bar a couple of tracks... oh dear :/

Still impatient to hear the whole thing - probably won't download iTunes just for the samples - I think I already uninstalled it awhile ago.

Not gonna judge till I've heard the whole thing. I like the sound from what I've heard of it but what matters are the songs and album as a whole. Like, the first verse of Sea Glass is a bit underwhelming, but it really picks up in the rest of the song with a strong break, especially.

And the break is completely missing from the first 90 seconds of the song.
