Help! I love Adele's album 21, especially Rolling In the Deep, Set Fire To The Rain, and Someone Like You.

But EVERYONE loves these songs. They won six grammies! It's the best selling album in years! Ack! I've become mainstream.

Especially if they were meant to be good, and that they got popular by chance.

Songs that are popular though they sucks are songs made to be popular.

Not everyone. I don't own any of Adele's albums, as I don't like her music or her voice.

Yes, such things happened to me, too. For example with Kate Bush and Blondie... both sold many millions of albums since more than 30 years and surely have still a huge fanbase. And I'm a fan of both as well. So this is not uncommon.

But my favorite album of last year is currently at position 211.464 on German amazon's mp3 albums bestseller rank, and the second best is at position 99.464... so I know also the exact opposite.

Quite often I find myself agreeing with Bernd. It's odd. This is no different. The lyrics to Someone Like You just make me cringe. The guy is happy. He's moved on. He's got a life and a special woman. Oh...but wait...I'm this ex, I'm just showing up...out of the blue...Surprise....even though I know you're happy, you've totally forgotten about me. Just thought maybe you needed some reminding, reminding, reminding.... I mean I'll find someone. But I thought I'd show up anyway... Incredibly dour and mopey. Just to remind you for some reason... Maybe because you're incredibly happy.

Obviously you broke up with me 'cos I'm a psycho stalker. I guess you should have known I was going to shave my head like crazy Britney Spears and diaper up and drive cross country like that crazy NASA astronaut to surprise you.

Rolling in the Deep is kinda fun though...

I can't really judge the album since I have only heard 3 songs.

The rest of the album isn't nearly as good as the three songs I mentioned, though Adele's voice is wonderful, imo.

What can I say? Love is complicated. I guess I don't take the song as literally as you do. I see it more as a song about losing/missing someone you're still in love with.

When I was younger, the charts were full of crap. Now the best selling albums over here (Adele, Lana Del Rey, Birdy, Gotye....) are from great artists !

I think the people who like 'good' music, still buy albums and the ones that don't care about good music or are too young to know, don't buy, but download illegaly.

Adela takes a 5 year break from music as she wants to focus on her relationship.

But happy artists never made any good music. Best music comes from anger, sadness...
