Beautiful Ride wins for me. While I prefer Do Something That Scares You lyrically, I like the music to Beautiful Ride better. As I am generally more of a music person than a lyric person, it wasn't too difficult to go with Beautiful Ride. Of course, if Higher Ground would have been an option I would have voted for it, but for some completely INEXPLICABLE REASON Higher Ground didn't get past the last round, which still freaks me out and is one of the great mysteries of life.

This would be a very nice final pairing!

I do know what it feels like to lose a favorite song too early in a tournament - I remember being upset that Water From Wine got knocked out early in the b-sides tournament. But it happens and at least Higher Ground had a strong showing in its last match. You are not alone in loving the song.

Do Something That Scares You

One of the riskiest and boldest songs Heather's done in over 10 years, I think. I may not feel as personally close to the song as I do to Beautiful Ride, but I cannot deny that it's a beathtakingly beautiful song, an explosion of imagery and rock and roll. She doesn't hold back.

Kinda hard to vote against a rocking song with these kinds of lyrics:

Much more original, much more powerful, much more risky. Almost a Sugar-like song.

I love Heather rocking, i love Heather singing great lyrics and I especially love if Heather touches with lyrics and music. I'm not fond if she goes too commercial.
Beautiful Ride is commercial but one of the better songs, has some speed, which I like. Do Something That Scares You is the best song from the album in terms of rocking. Everything chances is the best in term of lyrics from the album for me.
For this semifinal it's clear, Do Something!

Two of my favourites on the album, and much better than the other semi finalists, but I had to go with DSTSY - I just find it a little more interesting and leftfield musically though Beautiful Ride is so anthemic I feel bad for voting against it.

One more week to vote.

Do Something That Scares You - 6 - 40%

And so Beautiful Ride flies into the finals by defeating Do Something That Scares You.

Ouch.

Such is the price of taking risks, I suppose.
