lately, ive been pretty bored with everything that isnt Mazzy Star, The Innocence Mission, or old Ryan Adams.

so today, ive decided to pull out old cds that ive had for years. or cds that ive just simply forgotten about.

so on my way to work, i listened to (and dont laugh):

Patti Rothberg - Between the 1 and the 9
Lori Carson - Stars (this album blows, btw)
Juliana Hatfield - Hey Babe
Gin Blossoms - New Miserable Experience
Blake Babies - Innocence & Experience
Elastica - Elastica (blatantly ripping off Wire..they should be ashamed!)
Suzanne Vega - Nine Objects of Desire

as you can tell, it was a huge chick fest, and i only listened to my favorite songs from each album .. but still.
ROCK!

haha.

someone make me a mix cd. im dying for music!

Maybe me...

Say I saw a CD by The Innocence Mission, but it looked like a bunch of covers? Is that the one you're crazy about?

again i have not the faintest idea about many artists posted up there. which is good.
.
i have been listening to some kasabian so far; a mag said their music sounds like the latest stone roses album should (or could) have sounded like. i dont know the latter either. whatever; some ppl do and that could be a hint for them; moreover, kasabian makes me a bit reminiscent of interpol, as far as some arrangements and guitars are concerned, but generally theyre very different. /m

Kasabian are supposedly part of that "baggy" revival, along with The Music. The baggy movement unfolded in the second half of the 1980's in the UK, with groups remembered (The Stone Roses, The Happy Mondays) and forgotten (The Inspiral Carpets, for whom Noel Gallagher of Oasis used to be a roadie). The baggy style consisted of groovy backbeats with jammy guitar sounds, one of the first cross-pollination of rock and dance music if you will.

I personnaly don't care much for their music, and wouldn't compare them to Interpol who are closer to the new wave sound, which preceded baggy in time. Enough for tonight class.

I like that Suzanne Vega album. I think it's the only one I really like by her. And I agree about the Lori Carson. Bleh! That one had a very fast turn around time in my house.

Now I'm listening to The Innocence Mission. You can guess why. Pretty!

The Bon Jovi Collection. Wooo ! They made B-Sides or unreleased tracks which are far better than many tracks of the released albums.

you might go to coachella??? that's like, close to me. well an hour and a half or so. I wasn't planning to go because i really don't like festivals, and it's expensive for something you don't even like much. but I agree the line up is pretty good this year.

That's an example of a song where I like the verses but not the chorus. Does anyone else do this? Like songs' parts only? I can't seem to help it.
