I think Vyvienne is quite talented (oh, and of course I should have known her, James, as her name is listed on “9”). I was surprised because I wouldn’t have expected a song like that played by a cello – it’s rather extraordinary! Btw, is she the one doing the singing parts for Damien as well now after Lisa left?

To be honest Sabine, I haven't a clue if she has taken up that mantle. I doubt it. I suspect Damo's ego is getting the better of him.

She has done other cover versions too on cello including 7 nation army and come together. Not too mention her gorgeous cover of the flaming lips song "yoshimi" which she plays on piano. Like you say she is quite talented.

if you are interested in other cover versions played on a cello then you could do worse than check out Rasputina's The lost and found ep, 2nd edition.

Yeah, but I still think Never For Ever and The Dreaming are even much better.

There are some fantastic songs on both albums indeed but i still reckon Hounds of Love is the one to have. I have the one with the extra tracks and the rather wonderful "under the ivy". I never did get into Aerial though. I think i need to invest more time. I saw Casino Royale recently and was inspired to play James and the cold gun. FUN

REM - Out of time
- seriously can't remember the last time i played this nor indeed wanted to play this. The lyric "i skipped the part about love" always jumps out at me cos of the dEUS connection (Tom stole it for the song via)

I've seen them in concert this week and find it rather good. The singer should be Gerd's taste
