Little Joy, whose Glasgow gig I attended on Saturday.
It's funny, but the music they make would've sounded 'young'n'hip' in about 1968 and although they do no more than a broadly similar thing (all be it with considerable skill) 40 years later, it still feels 'young'n'hip'. And this isn't just because I'm older myself: the rest of the audience at the packed gig were extremely 'young'n'hip'. Maybe it's the obvious sense of 'fun' and casual goodwill that imbued the band's performing style on stage. Anyways, the atmosphere was intoxicating and great fun.

Juliana Hatfield's "How To Walk Away"- Gerd this is a winner for you! It's got a pop sensibility with witty lyrics and a matching style with one hot lady!

Mark Ronson "Here Comes the Fuzz" and "Version". No Hatfield's HTWA, but pretty good for funky rhythms.

Waiting to get Better than Ezra's Paper Empire so that I can have "Absolutely Still" and listen to that version and Val Emmich's "Absolutely Still." Both are the same song written by both bands.

Also listening to Brandy Human, Joan Osborne Little Wild One, K.D. Lang Watershed, and Coldplay's Viva La Vida.

Yesterday I bought the combined CD/DVD of Jean-Michel Jarre's Oxygene.
I'm delighted that a musician who could get me all excited about music about a quarter of a century ago (for me) can still produce that feeling, suitably updated on all fronts. He may not be a Mozart-type genius but I believe he's a quite genuine artist... he retains that youthful, exploratory, enthusiastic vigour.

i am listening to BLACK RUST. their album was produced by a SOPHIA-member, btw.

their music is rather folkish, hand-made with piano and cello. fabulous!

a masterpiece - though I admit i find it too depressing to listen to it very often. Last time I heard this song playing in a restaurant in Heidelberg.
