I will play my own songs.

Maybe I would have performed some covers if I had had the parts of 30 minutes for myself, but I'll have "only" 45 minutes. Not that much.

I won't miss the occasion of presenting and testing them to people.

Moreover, I 'm the writer and the compsoer of all my songs, but I don't song that well. Which means it's better that I focused on the creativity aspect, which means focusing on my work.

Definitely, I will perform at least one of the English ones.

French is full on "nasal" sounds, which makes it harder to sing when the nose isn't in normal conditions.

Yes.

In fact, I'm Estellem here because I already had adopted that name some years before.

At first, I took it by chance, when I was 15, because there was another Estelle in my class and everyone had to create a folder in the school's computer. So, I added the "m" of my (previous) surname (there was the time when you couldn't leave spaces in files names and stuff, the good old time with crap computers, and crapper at school).
But I liked the sound quite much and, sine them, I signed with it every little thing I tried to create. I still keep it for the songs.
Well, nobody ever used it, but me :D(and some members here).

I like the fact that, at one time, it's not my name as I and other people use it, and it's still my name. Then, in a way, the barier between real life and song is small and thin (which I find quite sane), but there is one, (which I find quite sane too).

By the way, I think there is already one singer called "just" Estelle. And, if I remember well, her music is big sh... not my taste.

By the way, I'm not very fond of the fact they mention my job. I have no problem with it, of course, but they didn't mention other' one's jo. Like if being a teacher was not a job, but my entire life.
But mybe I shouldn't complain - after all, they didn't write anything about Thibault, the guy who will share the stage with me.

I'm teaching Latin indeed. And French (same diploma). And I could teach old Greek if there was some left in my school (but old Greek disappears...).

I couldn't teach music. I'm not god enough. Music is "just" my favourite hobby.

Why are "bonjour" and "bonsoir" both only one word, and why are they not written "bon jour" or "bon soir"? Compare it with "bonne nuit", which is still written in two words.

Maybe "bon jour" and "bon soir" are simply so common that during the last centuries they changed into "bonjour" and "bonsoir"? Or because "bon" (male) is handled differently to "bonne" (female)?

un bon jour = a good day ("jour" is a "male" name).

Une bonne nuit = a good night (night is female)

Un bon soir = a good evening (soir is male)

"bonjour" and "bonsoir" come from "bon jour" and "bon soir". Now, words are "glued" and they simply mean "HELLO". You tell bonjour and bonsoir when you MEET the person. It doen't mean anymore thatyou wish them a god day or evening. It's just politness.

You say "good night" when you LEAVE the person at night. It's still two words, because it means both goodbye and that you wish them a god night.

Have you made a final decision yet on your setlist?

It's what's called "off - stage" of the festival (real artist playng on the real stage, people like me playing near the bar.

It seems to be wery "spontaneous organisation". The setlist will depend if I'm playing 45 + 15 minutes or 3 x 15.

I'll have to decide about it with the other guy.

There will be an half an hour show between people can enter the center and the opening of the doors, than another 30 minutes between the 2 "real shows", then about 30 minutes after the 2nd and lst "real show".

Well, I think those performing by the bar are the "real show".

I'm guessing you're probably performing right now - hope it's going well. Don't mind the drunk guys who are talking really loud and aren't paying attention.

Well, not bad.

Played twice a 30n min set.

1st one not very exciting : peole were hurrying into the real stage room (unnumbered seats), so they didn't pay attention. Almost fortunately, since I made several mistakes.

Played again at the end of the "real" shows. Some people hurried back home, but others stayed and listen. Quite nice, especially as I made only a few mistakes this time.
