I am considering to drive to Mannheim. There is a free open air tonight with the Juli and with Pink!

I am considering as well to go to Sarah Bettens in december 10th in Frankfurt, Brotfabrik. I cannot find any link to this concert so far at the internet. My source here is a guy organizing all those small concerts in Frankfurt. Very reliable and you can often win tickets.

I saw Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan in concert last night. I had the impression that more people were there to see him. As with a lot of Dutch concerts half the audience were down the back having a good chinwag. Isobel was a bit annoyed and said so at one point towards the end of gig. There's a song called "do you wanna come walk with me" which she changed to "do you wanna come talk with me". They played quite a few new songs, and threw in one of his songs at the end. Though they played nothing from Isobel's Amorino album which baffled and annoyed me as there are some great songs on it. Anyway....

...Tonight i'm off to see Woven Hand, that man David Eugene Edwards and look forward to hear him say "thank you for clapping" And he better play signs of the zodiac or else

That's the title of the first album, isn't it? Not the name of the band.

I seen Korn, Flyleaf and Evanesence Family Values tour last night in Camden NJ. I was very impressed by (and went to see/hear) the show Flyleaf put on. Korn, Evanesence...ehh.. not a fan of them. Next show I have planned is the Dave Matthews Band in just over 24 hours. God how I love to see DMB live. Good times, good vibes and good people, what could be better? <cough, cough>

There is a free open air concert in Mainz, which is just 10 km away. It is next Saturday, August 18th, 2007. I'm considering to go. Artists performing there:

Rihanna
Christina Stürmer
Sabrina Setlur

Tonight I went with my sister in law to the free open air concert with Rihanna, Christina Stürmer and Sabrina Setlur. About 30000 people where there say said.

Rihanna tried to be very cool and professional and sexy. A bit too cool for my taste.
She was proud of all people who wrote a song so far for her but I have a the feeling she never wrote one herself. And the lyrics where quite boring. Well the sound was ok, thats it. Embarassing was, that she always said Frankfurt to the audience, although she was in Mainz, which lies in a different country than Frankfurt. It's like performing in Detroit and saying "Hello Chicago"

Christina Stürmer from austria was sometimes a bit boring, especially when just the band played. The rest was ok. Her hits where fine, especially "Engel fliegen einsam".

And Sabrina Setlur ... the songs she is now doing are not fresh enough. Her early work is much better.

To sum up, the weather was perfect, the concert was for free, nice girls in the audience ...just head preferred better music.

You are so funny Gerd.

Just got home after 2 days of Pukkelpop. It was great, but exhausting. Met a lot of friends too,and former colleagues.

The best thing I've seen was Sophia : 12 people on stage ! Strings, trumpets, backing vocals ... gave a whole new dimension to classic songs and allowed Robin to play some new songs for the first time.

Funny seeing Malcolm Middleton on stage too ! (on guitar)
No Matt Round or Will Foster on stage.

I saw so many bands I forgot most of them (well there are 7 stages !!!).

Nin was no good, neither was Sonic Youth.
A name to remember is Kate Nash, a cross between Lucie Silvas and Lilly Allen. Happy funky music, but very good live.

Their concerts are really great. The language is not really important. That is why I think they are a very special band. They know how to enjoy the audience with their music and natural behaviour. They are not trying to sell as stars and they are so much more than lots of those trying to be!
A band that stays true to themselves.
Yes, thats why Heather Nova fans do like them!

Well, I have seen them already once, but I go to this second gig, because of their music (and yes, I have to admit, because of their intelligent lyrics sung in German), and not because of their "natural behaviour" or them "staying true to themselves". Well, that's a bonus, but not a reason for me to go to a gig of them. That's not even a reason for me to go to a Heather Nova gig.

No, I will not. Why should I go to Belgium when they are playing not far from here?

Does this mean when Heather does her next European tour, you will only visit her gigs in the Rhein/Main region?
