Last Spalsh contains their two biggest hits, Cannonball and Divine Hammer, and was their best-selling album. I would recommend you to listen to Cannonball, Divine Hammer, and Saints on youtube before, as Last Splash sounds clearly different to Pod. Cannonball was the first song ever I had heard from the Breeders. The video for Cannonball was directed by Kim Gordon from Sonic Youth. I think Last Splash is a brilliant album as well, but it needed lots of time to grew in me.

Kim Gordon! The one and only. Deep bow. She's absolutely great! (add about 155 other admiring phrases here...)

I knew Cannonball, of course! I just never knew it was by the Breeders - what a shame.

Reverse Migration - remixes/covers (it's a sliding scale, really) - of songs from The Bird of Music by Au Revoir Simone. The girls chose the tracks themselves and it's briiiiiiiiiiliant!

The Breeders - Last Splash
The Pixies - Doolittle

After receiving the Breeders-CD I realized that I knew it already for a very long time, some friend of mine had it shortly after the release and we sometimes listened to it. That's quite some time ago and in the meantime I had forgotten about it...

Franz Ferdinand - the single off their new album as a tester, since I heard their latest was quite synthy. It is! So I'll get the album once I get some cash together.

Lily Allen's latest album as I actually like the single.

The EP by Little Boots. I can't find the hardware version so I downloaded it instead.

Catherine AD's 'Carry Your Heart' EP, which arrived in a handwritten-addressed envelope in the post yesterday. George Pringle tied her debut EP in pink ribbon. Catherine, using black. Heh.

Last album I bought was KERRANG! The Album '08, but I was seething mad at my employment agency PA at the time and wanted to get some loud heavy metal to blast out of my HiFi.

Chris Cornell. One of those out-of-character purchases, but I just love 'part of me' and its accompanying video: that guy is just soooo cool!

5 items by PJ? Which ones? Old singles, or what?

Sonic Youth - Rather Ripper is exactly what you might expect to hear on a sonic recording. There is some great guitar on this record. I have always loved the extended jams and there are plenty on this one.

2 cd's by Silversun Pickups, it sounds like Lush with a touch of Hole.

A cd by Motek, a Belgian band that sounds very 80ies, but with a modern sound.

hey Bernd, u saying the others are not so good then ?? !!

Yeah all women

I will purchase some male material next month when the new a-ha album comes out; I'm guessing though that won't meet with your approval though ??

Must make my next selections a bit more testosterone infused; although surely Polly Harvey counts on that score !!
