Hi Rainman, I'm not planning to go to London to see Sheryl... but I think the gigs will be great, I have seen some DVDs of her shows, she is great!

I'm Cassander

I live in Silver Spring, Maryland, a stones throw (literally) outside of Washington DC in the USA.

My favorite Heather Nova songs include Island, Truth and Bone, and Everytime. My favorite album is Oyster, followed by Glow Stars, Storm, Siren, South, and Redbird.

I like Heather's songwriting most of all, especially the interesting subtlies and poeticisms she puts in her songs. I like that I can keep listening to her songs and keep hearing new things in them.

Other music I like: Sarah McLachlan, Jewel, Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy), Howard Shore (Lord of the Rings), Vivaldi, Jimmy Buffett, and many others. Heather is my favorite.

I wasn't aware of Mozart and Beethoven's rock compositions.

But ok, some classical music rocks as well in their own kind of way

Darren, I thought you were older than 40. Sorry.

Earlier this year I went to a concert of Dead Can Dance with the new bass player of The Gathering.
(well nothing romantic, but it was nice to spend the evening with such a beautiful rockchick.)

well.. in iceland it would be the underground indie culture that's really the best.. influenced by the smiths and interpol.. and a little of joy division...

http://rokk.is/mp3/j/jakobinarina_his_lyrics_are_disasterous.mp3

little sample.. that would be jakobinarina.. their as old as I :)

that's a young music scene if they're influenced by interpol

by the way, I really enjoyed the movie '101 Reykjavik', though I think it's not that realistic or representative for Iceland...
