Throwing Muses, Breeders, Amps. Plus, I bought some Bjork CD's that I only had on cassette.

Neil Young - Live at Massey Hall 1/19/71

So very Young, Neil alone with acoustic guitar performing "brand new songs" to a very receptive audience. Brand new songs such as "Old man",Cowgirl in the sand","Don't let it bring you down","Ohio","Down by the river".

So many classic rock and roll songs done here, very cleanly with just his acoustic and a lot of heart. I highly recommend this to any Neil fans out there.

well i haven't listened to it that well, but it's definately cut-up in different sorts of songs. tori says it's got 5 different styles, thus the categorization into the five girls represented in the cd. the look of the, the extras and the wrappig is very pretty, as ever

well, compared to her previous songs, these won't ever make it, to my opinion. the entire album can't stand up to any single song on Boys for Pele, Little Earthquakes, To venus and back or Under the Pink. but that has been clear to me ever since she started releasing Scarlet's Walk and The Beekeeper. Maybe it even started with Strange little girls. Nevertheless, Tori always has this extra sort of X-factor that keeps me buying her albs, her extreme way of presenting herself, different in every album. Plus i'll be seeing her June 3rd live, so i'd better like the songs

I will buy the album in the next days, but I could listen to almost all songs already. I can fully agree to what Anke wrote. She forget to mention Choirgirl Hotel, though, which is a great album as well.

I will see her on June 11!

I've totally lost track of the mountains of stuff I've purchased recently. I'm actually more interested in when the stuff that hasn't yet been released - or even recorded - comes out.
I video'd the recent Little Doses performance at King Tut's and uploaded some of it to myspace but, three days in, it's still being processed. Is that normal?

Salad - drink it in.

Reminds me of the early nineties when I used to watch MTV a lot, for 120 minutes, alternative nation... in the days they played a lot of Heather Nova, PJ Harvey, Cranes...

Can you upload a song somewhere? I think I have never heard of "Salad" before and I googled for "Salad" and got "If you like Salad then you probably like Belly, The Breeders, Echobelly, Elastica, PJ Harvey, Pixies, Pulp, Salt, Veruca Salt".

The singer, Marijne (or something like that) was a former model and she presented on Mtv too.

I really like those early days of Mtv Europe, with Ray Cokes, Tobi Amies.... Now it's crap.

In those days (1991 - 1995) Mtv helped me to discover lots of new interesting bands.

I'm getting nostalgic.

I've gone on a little spree recently:

Morrissey ~ you are the Quarry 2CD Deluxe Edition

Bob Drake
~ The Skull Mailbox (and other horrors)
~ Little Black Train
for those two ordering direct from the guy himself, I got a bonus CD of an hours worth of improvised and unreleased material

Susanne Lewis (connected to the above Bob Drake, both being members of Thinking Plague)
~ 'eponymous' CD
~ HAIL (with Bob Drake) ~ Kirk
~ HAIL ~ Turn Of The Screw
~ HAIL ~ Hello Debris
~ Hail/Snail ~ How to live with a tiger
~ VENUS HANDCUFFS

John Zorn's Naked City
~ lavish box set with Complete Studio Recordings plus bonus material
~ Live vol.1 Knitting Factory, 1989

Susie Ibarra Trio ~ Songbird Suite

Mephista ~ Black Narcissus

Mephista comprises three FEMALE musicians at the cutting edge of modern age music:
Sylvie Courvoisier
Susie Ibarra
Ikue Mori

Massacre ~ Lonely Heart
Massacre comprises Fred Frith (electric guitar), Bill Laswell (electric bass) and Charles Hayward (drums)

Death Ambient ~ Drunken Forest
who comprise Fred Frith, Ikue Mori and Kato Hideki

as well as this, I've bought a few things on vinyl

Genesis ~ Invisble Touch
PJ Harvey ~ The Peel Sessions (1991 - 2004)
Tori Amos ~ American Doll Posse (180-gram double vinyl set)
Mnemonists ~ Horde
Thinking Plague ~ Moonsongs
