Drinking coke is terrible for you! It depletes your body of calcium.

I haven't drunken anything fizzy in a loooooong time. I just drink tea all the time, good supply of calcium and anti-oxidants (Good for your skin.) and I'm 17 so the caffine isn't going to be doing any serious damage. Not until my cells finish replicating themselves again, which will be in my 20s.

I keep thin by doing plenty of exercise, not eating between meals, and snacking on apples.

God bless those apples.

Then -lots- of walking.

I don't think I'd like to join. I have 1,88m and 55kg. No good idea to loose any more weight...

Too much of anything is bad for you, so they say...

There is evidence that caffeine intake (and I drink a substantial amount of coffee every day, and I'm just over 40 years old) reduces the risk of diabetes.

A brisk walk or occasional run is healthy for you.

An apple a day may keep the doctor away, but it will keep the dentist in pay.

Well, dentists do not go to medical school, so no.

"An apple a day keeps the doctor away" is an English saying.

My mother loves apples but her dentist says it's hurting her teeth, especially biting into them and such. She quoted the English saying but he told her it doesnt apply to dentists.

By eating less carbs:pasta,bread,potatoes...and deserts(not easy in France )and more protein(chicken, fish)and vegetables as well as regularly running(between 30-45km each week)I have lost all my excess weight in a year and a half and more importantly,I have not put it back on.
I used to organize wine tasting lunch and dinners so I would basically eat all day and had put on a lot of weight(95kgs for only 1m75)
Now that I am in decent shape I find that I can eat and drink what I want(only occasionally overdoing it )and not put on weight.I am at 70Kgs and feel great.
I also stay away from Coca-Cola,unless there is some rhum around...

I'm surprised.

Dentistry is not seen as part of "medicine" in US?

I guess it depends how you define medicine. A dentist can perscribe some drugs, I guess... not sure how that works.

And you could call a dentist "doctor" I guess, but I dont think they go to medical school.

Yes, that's rather strange to me, too. They have no medical education? They don't have to attend university?

Why? Eating apples by biting into them alot certainly could be a dental problem. Unlike you, some people do have lots of dental problems... it's not as if there weren't effects for the cause.

Why do you want to lose more weight, Gerd? Do you think you need to lose it? In the pics i've seen you look quite healthy.

Thank you. thats very sweet. Just consider that i'm only 1.86 tall. My weight is 87 kg right now. That is way to much for me . I used to have 80 to 82 kg or less. I just need motivation to reduce. A Heather Nova Tour for example. That would be easy to reduce 4 or five kg in four or five weeks.

Think of the Coca Cola competition I had with Christina. It started 1t of November 2004. The competition is over and I haven't had any coke since then. In a view days it is 2 years!

So anybody who joins would help. Well Anke maybe wanted to reduce weight. If she is going for 2kg i would try for 4 kg till Christmas.

I would participate. I got rid of 3 kg during the last two weeks, it's now 81 kg.
My goal would be 75 kg by end of the year.

Fritz, try a balanced diet and running every day.
Even if you don't run far what counts is that you get a regular and demanding work-out.
6 kilos in 2 months is doable.Viel erfolg
The hardest part is to start, but if you keep it up(no pun intended) soon you will notice-besides a slimmer waist- you feel more motivated physically and mentally
Thanks again for the Knust club recording,I put it immediately on my ipod and it is now a faithful companion for long walks by the river.

Well check your weight tommorow morning. I will do as well. That would be weight zero. Write your weight down. After one week just report the difference. like +0,5 kg or so
Well that was just a joke. Of course it should be always minus in front. I will write down as well.

My goal is 3 kg till Christmas. If you loose more weight till christmas then I do, you will win a Heather Nova live pic. Well I decide which one so.

Even more precise: I never had a bike in the last 20 years. I've told it already often here, but the last time I was on a bike was most likely in the end-1980's.

An adventure in the whole life for overweight people, isn't it?!? Yeah, it would be good, if i'm loose weight too. I've got 5 kg too much on my ribs... and i really want to loose this unnecessary fat. But there was my boyfriends birthday last weekend and mine is not far away, so there was and will be much cakes...and at home there are now many sweets. But to loose weight, you have to eat balanced diet, less fat and sugar. I drink only water and tea, so this is no problem for me, but the sweets i love sweets and the christmas cookies, there are to many possibilities.

Anyway, i want to join this Losing-Weight-Action....walking every day with my dog, more fruits, less sugar and fat, drinking much water and tea without sugar. Let's go

Greetings,
Verena
