So now about a month for the concert, looks like the concert is sold out. No more tickets available at ticketservice.nl

I'm on row 16..looking forward to the show (10th time Heather in Concert) but not looking forward to the crappy seats in the Pepsi Stage and this light in the venue. (my eyes are still hurt by this stupid starlightedceiling).

Anyway, saw her accoustic during the Music in my Head-festival as well as the A'dam Carre-show, which were great shows. The setlists look great. Hope she'll do Sugar as well in A'dam.

may I remind you guys and girls that the concert is scheduled for start time 8pm as opposed to 8.30 last night? this means meeting up at 7.30 - 7.45 is a wee bit short...

right?

Back from the concert. Had to wait long for Heather outside in the cold. (((bbrrrrrrrrrr)))
Nobody complained, but she kinda apologized.

Heather played the same setlist as in Groningen. The Poem reading (the bad blood and the rose).

For the first time I met Sabine

Hi!

I introduced myself on the Welcome page.
I would like to say that although I am not a really big fan like a lot of you here, I really enjoyed yesterdays concert in Amsterdam. Much better than I expected it to be!!!!

I hope some pics or sound will turn up from this concert.

Once again, it was an evening well spent!!!!

the concert itself was great, but the venue just sort of sucked. (big time) the acoustics were totally not geared to this kind of concerts, so they had to turn up the volume to get enough sound for the people way back. that meant the piano was sometimes close to distortion level in the speakers. Frequently Heather's acoustic guitar could barely be heard.

(the venue was originally -temporarily- 'designed' for a musical, that went bankrupt)

Groningen was way superior in terms of sound quality, but overall a good performance anyways. Heather's voice seemed to be a bit tired towards the end of the night.

But maybe that was because I am tired myself.... (drained after 2 days of driving from south Spain, and 2 late nights at concerts and picking up work again)

The good thing about the venue for future : security is near to non-existent.. (photo!!)

downside : it means girls walking down the stairs close to teh stage, and FLASH straight in the face of Heather.. how NICE ! (yes if you read this... TURN OFF your bloody flash please... ) and if you don't know how to do that, READ the manual.. aaaargh.. (or get rid of the blond perm!! it is so so stereotype confirming!!! )

sorry.. i just had to put out this rant !

bottom line : I had a great time ! but it was freakin' cold outside waiting at the back of the venue

Gerd was just this morning dropped at the airport and is on his way to London.

The concert was great, but the sound was a bit better at groningen. @ Gerd, Sabine Jelger and Haasje: did I just missed heather this time?

I thought the concert was great. It was my 10th HN concert and she still enchants me. Anyway, the soundquality did not really bother me. Iw as next to the mixingdesk and did not notice any disturbing distortion or what so ever.

No surprises in the setlist. Too bad some people didn't notice that there was no opening act, so they had tot run when they noticed she already started.

Flahes are annoying, i have to agree with you. Same goes for watching those bright displays of mobile phones and digicams all the time. But then again, there was no real security at all.

Anyway, just noticed on the site of De Effenaar (http://www.effenaar.nl), a club in Eindhoven, dat she'll play there on August 3, sale starts on march 29th.

Any news of any furher shows that month?

I made a picture with Heather and Sabine late that night. So hopefully for her it was worth to wait. It was so damn cold. Well for me it was worth. Even if Heather said, she don't want to play the song Blind, which I asked for.

The concert was better than I expected because I did not know what to think of a concert with only a guitar, violin and piano. Normally I go to somewhat heavier gigs. But it was really great as I said.

I was in the back, row 31, (2 rows from the most highest seats) and for us the sound was really good! Nothing to complain!

It is good news that she is coming back to Holland, I don't know if I should tell my wife though (she is the real fan) because maybe our holiday will be planned around the gigs date...
Ha, just kidding, ofcourse I'll tell her!

I forgot to mention that the T-Shirts were sold for 20 Euro instead of 15 Euro and they were not sold as usual by Tony, but by the Pepsi Stage or Mojo crew. They had the T-Shirts in commision.

I was there at 19.30 pm at the tshirt stand looking for a girl in a pink shirt, but I saw nobody. Yeah there were a couple of girls with pink tops...

I did saw Gerd if i am correct. I recognized him from a picture. If i'm right you were standing on the stairs near row 11 talking with a girl with a pink top (Sabine?) hihi

Well anyways.... i liked the concert, it was good especially with the violin. I didn't take my camera with me because i thought i wouldn't be allowed in but there was no security at all... If i only knew that.....

I didn't regret at all that I went twice to the same concert. In Groningen I was really overwhelmed by Heather and deeply enjoyed it.
In Amsterdam it was more like: "Look, there we have Heather again, let's have a nice evening." The special touch for me was gone. But ofcourse I enjoyed it!

My seat at the concert was row 11, the view was o.k. But during the break Jeroen (sleeping forum memeber) said to me that there was an empty seat at row 4 near the middle path. So the second set I sat closer. The sound was better then on row 11 in my opinion.

But the evening went even better as Gerd, Jelger and I met Heather for a short moment at the end of the gig. I don't really look nice on the photo: too much smiling. Heather looks a bit tired, but I can imagine during a tour. But it's the moment what counts, it was nice to speak to her.
And to meet some forum members!

Hey there, just returned to work today (little energy to do any though ; still kinda exhausted from my few days away); had a wonderful time at the gig - Heather looked stunning as ever (despite wearing “that” dress – which I have to say looked a whole lot better than I’d seen in photos; she looked real cool in the funky casual gear she wore during the second half ), but more importantly, vocally she was outstanding (although, when is she ever not!) – her voice was crystal clear (certainly from where I was sitting in the 3rd row), while the sparse instrumentation certainly meant sure all that heartfelt emotion sure hit the spot (I do agree though perhaps her guitar could have been turned up a notch or two). Too many standout tracks to mention; the night passed in such a blur that I couldn’t believe it was the break, then the second half, then all over (I so want to relive it all again; someone better have recorded it!) – bar a couple of omissions (Heart & Shoulder for one), the set list was perfect and suited the stripped down vibe; it was great to hear two of my all time favourites live for the very first time (the Neil Young penned “Like a Hurricane” and “Walking Higher”).
Picked up a copy of the Sorrowjoy CD but haven’t had a chance to listen yet…
Also, managed to grab a quick word with Gerd before the show, and was introduced to Sabine (unfortunately I couldn’t hang around after the gig, as my flight home left first thing the following morning and, not being familiar with the Metro system, was worried in case I missed the last train back to Central Station); although from what you say looks like I would have done anyway had I waited out in the cold for Heather; maybe next time around, time permitting, us guys and gals can hang out for a beer after the show…
All in all another brilliant Heather gig
Quite ironic though being billed as an “Intimate Evening”, when this (the sixth time I’ve seen Heather) had the biggest crowd I’ve seen so far (but then again, she does have a much bigger fanbase in Europe than she does in the UK); although in comparison I guess those lucky enough to attend the London show tonight at the tiny Cabot Hall will get the true intimate experience (I suspect Gerd is already top of the queue – the lucky man!)

Yeah, it was nice that it happenend, and I owe my thanks to Gerd, because he convinced me that it could be easily to meet her outside.
In the first palce, I had to take an early train as well to sleep that night at my boyfriend's place. But as we waited for Heather, I realized that I could also sleep at my mom's place near Leiden. She was so nice to pick me up from the railway station in Leiden at 0.50 o'clock, do I have a lovely mum or what?

Next time, just ask a forum member about the travel times like metro's or trains, we can look it up easily.
