Haha, welcome, Greg!

As far as I can see, you are the first member here from Africa. Although the user "rainman" is a big fan of Africa, he barely talks about anything else except Africa or Heather...

Heather played two times in South Africa in 2000, and she worked together with the Afro Celt Sound System. Surely you already know.

Since you are a poet, you can post your poems in the "Truth And Bone" forum, if you want. We had some poets before, but unfortunately they are mostly inactive right now...

Welcome again!

I know, but I cannot live without them! This was no fun post.

Johan, as you are from Belgium and I'm speaking of exclaves: I always wanted to visit Baarle-Hertog and Baarle-Nassau, and also Vennbahn.

Well, there are no trains on Vennbahn anymore.

It's Belgian territory since 1919 (as it is in the Eupen region it was German before WWI), and cuts now the German territory in some pieces, creating five German exclaves.

http://www.vasa.abo.fi/users/rpalmber/BordersBeGe.htm

The railway track = Belgian territory
everything else = German territory

The signals for the trains don't look very Belgian though.

Because they are on German territory and are signals for the street, and of course that's German law then, how they have to look like. Only the railway track is Belgium territory. Fascinating.

"In human geography, an enclave is a piece of land which is totally surrounded by a foreign territory. If another country has sovereignty over it, it is also called an exclave of that other country. Enclaves may be created for a variety of historical, political or geographical reasons. Since living in an enclave can be very inconvenient and many agreements have to be found by both countries over mail addresses, power supply or passage rights, enclaves tend to be eliminated and many cases that existed before have now been solved."

I'm interested in those historical or political reasons, and in those agreements. And I always liked oddities.

Welcome Greg !!
I've got a South African friend from Vereeniging who is a fan of Heather And I was in SA on may and spend one day (only...) in Durban.
Did someone mention that Heather talked about South Africa on the london stage ?? And I talked about it to her after the london and paris show too, I said I hope she could sing again over there soon.
And Bernd, I subscribed to Novaforums when I was living in Africa, so I actually was the first african member Just kidding

Spongebob, huh? ok. Have you seen that cool vid by The Flaming Lips where they have Sponge Bob movie clips and do some wacky things that I don't remember? If not, go to launch.yahoo.com. They definitely got the vid for the US if no other country. (If they don't let peopel outside of US see the vid, then I'm sorry to hear that. Like I tried to watch a Sylver vid on UK Launch from here and it wouldn't let me because I wasn't from the UK- so stupid!)
