"Ever fallen in love" is a great song by one of the first English punkrock bands, The Buzzcocks. A surprising choice but it will definitely sound amazing

what a pity don mclean's song 'vincent" is not on the album. it is a song i really love, sometimes i imagine, how it would sound, sung by heather. i think it would have fit very well.😉 but maybe it's a hidden track.😉😃😃

Heather covered already "Like a Hurricane", played it often live, often as encore. But I guess this will be a different version on the album.

I should have known the National song as I love them and own the cd.

I guess it's a good idea to record some songs again (like the Bee Gees and Neil Young songs) as the older versions might be hard to find.

Staying alive was never released by Heather on a single I think.

I'm sure Estelle or Didier are willing to translate it. I'd understand most of it I guess. Must be weird hearing Heather sing in French. What's next ? Singing in German ?

I had 4 years of French. I don't think I'd fair much better than gerd though.

The translation given by MiniCooper is a fair start. However, it's poetic translation ie the main purpose was to create something that sounds good in English. I'll have a closer look, and will modify some things to give you something closer to French lyrics, though less beautiful in English.

I'm a bit confused about the prices to preorder/buy the new album.

Apple offers digital only download and it is listed for 11.99 Euro

Amazon lists the physical CD/Digipak for 22.99 Euro (for prime users )and Vinyl version (orange vinyl btw.) for 29,65 (for prime users), MP3 for 12.79 Euro.

On merchmusic, the official store it is 18.99 Euro plus shipping, but shipping can be quite high.

Heahter posted on facebook that CD will be available in stores outside europe, to save costs.

On buecher.de it is 18.99 including shipping within germany.

I really wonder why Amazon starts with an unbelievable high price for the physical CD, well they offer to reduce in terms of best price. Anyway I have never seen such a high price initially for a single CD. Maybe it is designed special or with extras?

Is it just a manufacturing issue that is resulting in this being an August release? It’s not that usual to have such a long wait after an official announcement.

10 month ist quite a long time. It seems that it was a surprise to Heather as well. Delays due to Corona could be a reason. On the other hand, the release close before the tour is not a bad timing. Just hope the tour has not to be delayed another time.

Maybe Heather improved her French, considering she's been with Vincent for a longer time now.

To offer a Vinyl LP along with an MP3 is a contradiction. People order Vinyl to have a different sound, maybe a more natural sound. I think even Amazon doesn't offer this combination.

Well, a lot of bands I follow, do this. You can listen to the lp at home and to the mp3's on your Ipod or in your car (if you don't have Spotify). I have a lot of vinyl but no record player, I only have them to look at, most of them are still in their plastic cover !

Yeah loads of bands and artists offer a download code with the vinyl. Here it can also help with chart eligibility as you often see bands urging fans who bought the vinyl to use their download code for it to count towards the charts.

Good news I think in regards to the new album is, that neither Amazon, Apple or other distributers so far offer additional tracks that are only available on their own platform.

Second single of Heather's upcoming Cover album is called "Don't stop believin'" (Journey) and will be release on December 10th, according to Heather's official facebook website. There will also be a video to this song. A snippet is alreday shown on facebook.

don't stop believin' sounds so lovely! love heathers vocals here, haunting. she really feels the lyrics.

there will be a very special mood inside the new album 'other shores', as we can hear with the first two singles. i like the very stripped down versions of the covers. for me, they nearly feel bare, reduced to the essence.

Interesting: the "Waiting For a Girl Like You" video has the credits: "Filmed by Vincent Lions, edited by Heather Nova", while the "Don't Stop Believin'" video has the credits: "Video by Heather Nova". So I guess no Vincent involved?

And of course the song can be bought now on Amazon etc.
