Really touching songs from all, thanks for sharing the links ! Great choice!

I saw Philipp Poisel live and really can recommend his concerts. Great sound and emotional songs. Btw. he plays in Arena Wien, Wednesday, 06 Februar 2019.

Recently: all Heather albums in reverse order. Right now it's "Tested" on "South".
Interesting to hear them all again in a short time. Wondering another time, why she doesn't play some songs more often or at all, there are so many "pearls" amongst them. Still love "The jasmine flower" and "Storm" so much.

Interesting. I just started listening to Thee Way It Feels with the same idea in mind. It's been awhile since I listened to a lot of Heather music.

Big year for my favorite artists. Heather Woods Broderick just came out with her third album, Heather Nova is releasing in July, Mal Blum is releasing in July, and Mary Lambert sometime this fall. So much new music!

Been waiting years for a new album from all of them.

Funny, you had the same idea! I'm almost through all the Heather albums now.

For me, the cd year has only begun with the new Melissa Etheridge und Glen Hansard albums, both released mid-April.
Not fond of the first few songs on the ME album, but fortunately it got much better towards the end.
But very disappointed by the Glen Hansard one. Like his two former albums, it doesn’t touch me like the wonderful "Rhythm and repose" from 2012 does.

My favourite songs lately (although not my most favourite ones by Melissa Etheridge), which I’m totally in the mood for:

Suede: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9aovIJ0mFWo (I love the words in the chorus: “Just like the marks on my guitar, just like the scratches on my heart, some things ain't ever gonna fade….”)

Here comes the pain: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kilB8OpXpOU

Last hello: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bQs1CZJiss4

and I love this as a kind of strengthening healing song:
Love will live: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fNCqm1mH4Yk

So as already said in my previous posting, I guess it’s often a personal thing as well, if you listen to a song for the first time and it immediately strikes a chord in you, because it fits your personal situation right now. Maybe some time later, you would think quite differently about it.

Generally I frequently pick up on the KEXP live recordings, which hosts quite some great little gems that I keep playing (certainly not all, but there have been quite some in the past)

Couple of things in the non-English have crossed my path recently:
The Israeli Jane Bordeaux, notably this song https://youtu.be/5t59s1sa1oc

During my past trip to Georgia I met a few of the band members of Vodka Vtraiom, a Georgian post-punk band - while at a cafe concert of Intervali, another underground band. A good friend of mine recorded a video for their last song. He is in the proces of making a documentary about Tbilisi's underground music scene.

(an adapted version is in the works, including video fragments of the ongoing protests - have seen it privately)

Dakh Daughters is a Ukrainian "freak-cabaret" collective, including members of another relatively well known group DakhaBrakha (both have performed at KEXP as well)

Don't know why, but it strikes a chord in me. Such a beautiful song.

(the viola player, Mika Posen, also has some interesting works herself, a few of which can be found on YT or Vimeo)

A recommendation for cello lovers: Hadas Kleinman. I have been listening to her for a while now.

This is a great solo home recording with a looper.
https://youtu.be/jtDkFEzbkvg

She has been doing a lot of stuff together with Aviv Bahar.
This is one of their most epic songs together, available in various live recordings (a great recording with singer Chen Yalon circulates as well).
