Eventually! Will be busy the next few days but it's what I had in mind. I just listened to each once so far.

Thanks for the video ! This one is better than the previous one : there's the whole song, and the lyrics are easier to catch.

Just typed the lyrics of "After all this time" and checked the chords quite roughly for myself.
Iím sure something lacks or is wrong in the lyrics and chords. (Don't know the tabs and if it's "I find" - which I hear - or "I'd find" in the chorus lyrics.) But I thought of sharing it nonetheless.
Adjustments and enhancements (especially by Estelle and Cass, but everyone else as well) are welcomed!

AFTER ALL THIS TIME by Heather Nova

Verse1:
When you find him, when you find the one
When you find itís, where your soul belongs
Put your hands out, nothing breaks your fall
Take a leave now, gonna risk it all

Verse 2:
Years of stillness, like a winterís frost
Never really knew how much Iíd lost
Every cell now coming back to life
Every breath now in a different light

Chorus 1:
I donít wanna shut my eyes
Iím open to the pain that might be coming
This is what I never thought I find
Real love after all this time

Verse3:
When it finds you, everything is clear
All the roads you took have brought you here
Looking up now to an endless sky
Tears are coming and you donít know why

Chorus 1

Interlude

Chorus 2:
I donít wanna shut my eyes
Iím open to the joy that might be coming, yeah
This is what I never thought I find
Real love after all this time

I donít wanna shut my eyes
Iím open to the joy that might be coming
This is what I never thought I find
Real love after all this time

Real love after all this time

Verse Chords:
C Em Am 4x

Chorus Chords:
F G Am 2x
F Em F Fm Am C (Em instead of C at the end of Chorus 2)

Well done !

I tried to find out the lyrics, but I had gaps, and obviously, what you find is clearly better than what I found.
I'll compare your version and mine, though, and if I think I may have understood a line better than you, I'll tell you.

For the verses, it'"s not Em but G/B : X20010.

I guess that the Em on the chorus, when she's strumming and not picking the ropes is Em then E (the chord seem to change in a few seconds - I don't know if I'm making myself clear, I'm a bit tired ).

Same for the bridge : C Em C Em E Dm G then chorus again.

Thanks very much, Estelle!
Somehow I was unsure, if it was Em in the verses anyway (it didnít come out clear in the video either). And I knew something lacked after Em in the chorus. Good to have an expert here!

And do you mean C Em C Em E Dm G for the instrumental part (which I called interlude)? That was, what I havenít checked yet.

In Rotterdam, she sings also "I'm ready for the pain...", but only once.

I disagree with verse 1. Well for Brugges it might be correct. She started again with the same words there.

But I think the correct lyrics are what she sang in Rotterdam and Bloemendaal. And it totally fits to the spirit of the song.

"recognize it's, where your soul belongs"
or
"recognize it, where your soul belongs"

Need to provide you both, Estelle and Sabine, my Bloemendaal recording. I guess tabs are somehow quite visible as well there.

I only listened to the Brugges recording and there is both times "open to the pain", so i don't know, if she changed the lyrics at the other concerts. Not quite sure about "When you find it" or "When you find him". Listening to it again, "it" could be actually correct, though i think "him" would fit better, so maybe that's the reason why i decided on the latter. But no problem, we can change both - "ready for" and "it"! Were there any other lyric changes at the other concerts?

In Rotterdam, she sings "ready for", but only in the first chorus 1.

In the second chorus 1, she sings "open to".

So far I recorded every version of the new songs on the tour! Dublin still to come
Just a matter of time to find out the differences.

Anyway, Heather said, those new songs are in a raw form. They might change till they get recorded.

So this is a good thing to listen to those in a special arrangement, not made to perfection. Well they are anyway! Really special and wonderful.

Looking forward to the Dublin concert. Haven't so far been to Ireland.

This is the alternative/enhanced version now. Though it's likely, there are more changes to come until the final version.

AFTER ALL THIS TIME by Heather Nova

Verse1:
When you find it, when you find the one
Recognize itís, where your soul belongs
Put your hands out, nothing breaks your fall
Take a leave now, gonna risk it all

Verse 2:
Years of stillness, like a winterís frost
Never really knew how much Iíd lost
Every cell now coming back to life
Every breath now in a different light

Chorus 1:
I donít wanna shut my eyes
Iím ready for the pain that might be coming
This is what I never thought I find
Real love after all this time

Verse3:
When it finds you, everything is clear
All the roads you took have brought you here
Looking up now to an endless sky
Tears are coming and you donít know why

Chorus 2:
I donít wanna shut my eyes
Iím open to the pain that might be coming
This is what I never thought I find
Real love after all this time

Interlude

Chorus 3:
I donít wanna shut my eyes
Iím open to the joy that might be coming, yeah
This is what I never thought I find
Real love after all this time

I donít wanna shut my eyes
Iím open to the joy that might be coming

Btw, if Heather does like I do, she'll have several versions for some verses, and time will let her find which one she prefers.

Even if I hadn't been emotionally and physically prostrated lately, I doubt that I'd try to find out the correct lyrics of the other three songs in the near future, as Ė unlike "After all this time" Ė I'm not too fond of them. (Perhaps I'll like them better in full arrangement.) So it's quite a lack of energy and ambition. It's not the case that I've already done them and don't want to share it, just to let you know.

I tried for Rose Gold, but I couldn't manage it.
Same for the two others, except I also lost what I had... I ca re-try both of them, but I doubt it will be convincing.

Another correction: it's "take a leap now" (instead of "take a leave now") in the 1st verse of "After all this time".

Rose Gold
by Heather Nova
(Rotterdam 2018)

(Verse 1)
And the path was unfolding in the charm of my heart that I didn't know,
And the boy was out walking on the street in the falling snow
With a Walkman in his cold hands and the music speaking straight to his soul
In the moment that I felt it, in the shadow of doubt that I let it go.

(Chorus A)
What happens when you feel it but you let it go?
Those roses planted still are gonna grow.
We made choices but how do we ever know
Which rose is gonna turn out to be rose gold?

(Verse 2)
White blanket of nothing for miles till Thunder Bay,
In the [???] looking backwards on the highway -
That's all we have to go on sometimes,
The years we spend crossing the continents of our lives.

(Chorus A)

(Break)
Don't let it, don't let it go,
Don't let it get away from you
When you find some thing that's true.

(Chorus B)
What happens when you feel it and you let it go?
Those roses planted are gonna grow.
We made choices but how do we ever know
Which rose is gonna turn out to be rose gold?

(Outro)
Gonna turn out to be, gonna turn out to be
Rose gold.
Gonna turn out to be, gonna turn out to be
Rose gold.

This song sure does remind me of Soon Alaska - both are stocked full of Arctic imagery and both focus on relationships that never came to pass. The poem mentions Alaska as a real place to anchor it, Rose Gold mentions Thunder Bay (a city in Canada).

I like the sound, I like most of the imagery, especially in the verses. The theme of regret, of not knowing. But that metaphor the Chorus is built around sure is odd - what does rose gold have to do with roses? When I think of rose gold, I think of iPhones or trendy jewelry, not flowers. Mixed metaphor and it doesn't seem to call back to the winter/arctic imagery either. Something growing in the cold is good but rose gold??

I enjoy the song and like a lot of the writing and the whole mood of it. But maybe I just don't understand the "rose gold" reference.

Thank you very much for the lyrics, Cass!!

I had the chorus after further listening, but the lyrics in the verses were the problem.
I like the tune and rhythm of this song. Maybe, itís kind of a play on words with roses and rose gold. All in all a metaphor for (blooming) love, marriage and bonds (jewellery, wedding rings made out of rose gold)? I have further thoughts about it, but thatís not the right thread here...

Oh, roses as a symbol of romance/courtship and rose gold as a symbol of marriage, using a play on words. That makes sense. Didn't know rose gold was that connected to wedding bands but maybe it is these days!
