Atoms for Peace - "Amok"

and (!)

David Bowie' s new single, "Stars (are out tonight)":

http://www.clipfish.de/musikvideos/vi ... he-stars-are-out-tonight/

His first single release from his new album, which will be released next week ("Where are we now") was "nice", but this new single is just great!!

2 thumbs up: At the age of 66 he is still a great musician!

OH MAN!!! I LOVE LIZ PHAIR!!! Which cd of hers were you listening to Bernd? I like everything from Exile in Guyville to Funstyle (although I can't say I'm a big fan of the Juvenilia EP)

Right now, I've been listening to the new Eleanor McEvoy cd (If You Leave...) and Frag' Den Abendwind by Françoise Hardy.

I listened to all her stuff I own:
Exile in Guyville
Funstyle + Girlysound
Juvenalia EP
Liz Phair (self-titled)
Somebody's Miracle
Whip-Smart
Whitechocolatespaceegg

I love especially Exile, Funstyle, Juvenalia, and Whip-Smart. Too bad I have never seen her so far, and I doubt I will. (Especially since I live in Europe.)

I adore everything of hers that you listed, with the exception of the aforementioned Juvenilia EP. She also has a great five-track EP called Comeandgetit that was originally a download-only offering that came out between Liz Phair and Somebody's Miracle. I highly recommend it!

I've only seen her live once when she was touring with Jason Mraz. She was amazing, but she didn't play very long and 85% of the audience was there to see Mraz (who also put on a great show, but I was there for Liz). The image of her performing HWC while wearing a see-through shirt will forever be indelibly imprinted on my mind. It was also hilarious to see the reactions from all the Mraz fans when she sang Flower.

Listening to a lot of VNV Nation recently. Love their 2011 album, Automatic, especially the song, Gratitude. Time & Space is also very good and is the song that got me into them. A friend tells me they're good live and they tour all over Europe, but I doubt they make the kind of music most people here would be into.

@ Cass. VNV are quite popular here, that's true. They also do a lot of gigs in Belgium.

Some people call it 'futurepop' or even worse 'frituurpop'.

Yes of course; today, it's the 25th anniversary of the sloughter of Tian'anmen Squart in Beijing (China).

It was in 1989. 2600 students was killed by the army.

On this video, at 2'48, the famous scene of "tank Man".

Thanks, Frencandle. You're always a big fan of Roger Waters?
I understand.

Mylene Farmer's brand new album Interstellaires is simply FANTASTIC. I just got Zaz's latest live CD Sur La Route, and Zazie's latest studio endeavor Encore Heureux, but I'm too enamored with Interstellaires right now to listen to anything else.
