First, Cologne was November 14th, not 15th. Unfortunately, many mp3's have wrong dates.

Second, I think she has said this about "gangs and shooting" before.

Fixed!

And it's possible she has. I still haven't listened to all the performances she's given this year. I know it wasn't in that interview she gave where she talked a lot about the background of all teh songs, though.

Hopefully posting this will inspire 7 more people to vote for Stop The Fire.

Correction for I'd Rather Be:

It's most definitely "And rise with it all".

(Break B)
And we laugh and we cry
And we love and we die
And we're not perfect
But that's how I'd rather be

And we climb and we fall
And rise with it all
We're not perfect
Not perfect, but that's how I'd rather be

In the last two days, I checked (almost) all of Heather's songs (when listed) in the GEMA database (GEMA = German rights organization), and to my surprise for the song "Over You" not only Heather is credited as "composer" and "author", but also Will Foster (both as "composer" and "author"). He played guitar and keyboard from 2001 till 2003 for her, but not since then. Also he is never credited for her studio recordings.

So is it possible that Over You is 10 years old already, maybe written during the South tour? What do you think?

Might be. I don't know.

But what I know is the melody is not very Heatherish. So I'not that surprised to read that someone else wrote its music with her (unless, of course, there's a mistake in the list, but I don't think so).

Oh, there are many mistakes in the list. For example: "Light Years" has the alternate title "Light Tears", according to the list. Really? Or "Done Drifting", alternate name: "Redbird". But these are two different songs! A few songs are even missing - but mostly they weren't released in Germany then. Then there are typos like "Firely dreams" instead of "Firefly dreams".

It's also a big mistake that a person called "Nova, Heather" even appears in the list. The list must contain real (!) names only. Funnily, Doubled Up has "Frith, Heather Allison" as composer, and "Nova, Heather" as author... as these were two different persons.

By the way, Mishka is listed as "FRITH, ALEXANDER MISHKA", and Felix as "TOD, FELIX RODERICK" (composer of the Sorrowjoy music).

Unfortunately, you cannot search for all Heather songs at once. You have to type in parts of the song title, too.

By the way, until South, most songs were published under "Big Life / Universal Music", and since Storm, most songs were published under "Saltwater / Kobalt Music".

Yes. It's a minute and 27 seconds long and was originally on The Sorrowjoy. It's Heather reciting (i.e., not "singing") one of her poems to some amelodic noise (ok . . . "ambient music") of Felix Tod. It's one of those memorable and thematic anthems that makes you want to pump your fist in the air and jump into a mosh pit.

Well - everything I wrote is true except that last sentence. It doesn't make you want to pump your fist in the air and jump into a mosh pit. I was just kidding about that part. It actually made me feel quite reassured that I had made the right decision in neglecting to buy The Sorrowjoy. But that's just me.

BTW, where has cappy been lately? I hope he's not mad about the Obama/Romney thread ...

Thanks Clouseau! I have the Sorrowjoy cd but didn't make the connection. I was hoping for a whole new song.
