The first time I heard Heather, was when a friend of mine brought the Dawsons Creek Soundtrack to our house, because my brother owned a CD-burner. (A CD would have been 6 months pocket money to her, so she had borrowed it from another friend.)
I didn't watch the series, but London Rain soon became one of my favourites.

It was in the summer of 1994. A small excerpt of Sugar or Mother Tongue (live on some festival) was shown on Mtv. The day after I bought Blow and Glow stars and I was 'sold'.
The statistics above show that Heather hasn't made a lot of new 'hardcore' fans since 1994-1998, which is kind of sad.

I haven't voted in the poll yet; can anyone help me to narrow down the year that the Truth and Bone video first aired on MTV or VH1? It was made in 1996, but it may have been as late as October 1997 that I saw the video, based on where I was living at the time.

I recorded it off MTV in april 1996. (had to check my old Vhs-tapes).
It was the third single off Oyster.

Thanks for the extra effort, johandeman. I'll go with '96 (actually, I'd like to go back to 1996
 ). When I saw the Truth and Bone video I thought something to the effect of, "Nice guitar. Wow, that's some heavy eye makeup... hey, same color as her guitar. Is that a PRS?"I saw the video just that one time, eventually forgot about it, and didn't hear anything more from Heather until It's Only Love was featured on Buffy the Vampire Slayer in 2003, after which I bought South and gradually the other releases. It was only after watching the TaB video on YouTube a few years ago that I remembered having seen it earlier, so I would count as a newer fan.

I don't know where you were living back then, but it was released in april 1996 (or sooner) in Europe/UK. In the States it might have been another date...

I'm not sure if there even was a Truth And Bone single from the States. They had the Live From The Milky Way EP and the AAA Sampler instead.
