I was just watching the 1998.06.23 Bremen concert (Absolut Live / Ruby Red Desire).

There are a few interview clips mixed in between songs.

In one, she mentions she wrote 40 songs for "Siren" before distilling it down to the ones that appear on the album

I'd love to hear some of those other songs. While perhaps they may not rise to the level of some others, there are many times that non-album songs really do match or even exceed what was eventually recorded for an album.

I hadn't realized she had written so many for that one.

It reminds me of the way Matthew Sweet wrote dozens of songs before choosing the ones that appeared on "Altered Beast." Many of the demos eventually were released and most of them were quite good.

As far as I know, "Man In The Ocean", "Days And Nights", and even "Paint The World" are such "Siren outtakes".

I agree. Exrta siren songs would probably delightful to hear.
