What a great site for the greatest vocalist/songwriter i've had the pleasure of hearing. It would be just awesome to get some news of an Australian tour!

Unfortunately, there's been no mention of an Australian tour. The Europeans (especially Dutch, Belgians, and Germans!) get most of the dates, alas, though America was lucky enough to get one a couple years ago.

I'm happy that I found this forum! Allow me to introduce myself.

My name is David, and I'm a 48 year old Heather Nova fan from St. Louis, Missouri (USA). My wife introduced me to Heather Nova in 2000 through her interest in Dawson's Creek. She bought Siren and it didn't take me long to fall in love with it. I started purchasing earlier Heather discs (Glow Stars, Blow, Oyster, Live from the Milky Way), but I didn't really care for them. I continued to purchase her discs as they came out, and thought South, Storm, Redbird and The Jasmine Flower were more to my liking than Glow Stars and Blow, but in my opinion, Siren just blew everything else out of the water. I must confess, I was unenthusiastic about everything other than Siren and didn't really give anything else much of a chance.

But there was something about her that compelled me to continue buying things from her when they came out . . . perhaps hoping for a return to "Siren."

Then 300 Days at Sea came out.

This one was different.
This one really freaked me out.
This one was REMARKABLE!!!!!

This rejuvenated my interest in re-listening to the rest of her catalog. And it didn't take long for me to realize that it's ALL absolutely incredible. I still cannot for the life of me understand why I wasn't more quickly drawn to Oyster. The darned CD sat on my shelf for years and gathered dust. A TRAVESTY OF JUSTICE!!! It's AMAZING. I have a completely different perspective on her right now. It may have taken me awhile, but I came around.

The only other music related forum I participate in is M.F. International, which is primarily for fans of French pop star Mylene Farmer. I'm an obsessed Mylene nut too.

Other than Heather and Mylene, I have a wide range of musical interests. To just name a few, Todd Rundgren and King Crimson are probably the most important to me, it's hard not to mention Liz Phair, Stanley Clarke, Kylie Minogue, Prince, Beatles, Paul Simon, Madonna, and I almost hate to say it for fear of ridicule, but Britney. OK. It's out. I love Britney.

This is also far too long of a post introducing myself but I appreciate the opportunity to participate in this forum, and I look forward to using this to feed my now insatiable appetite for all things Heather Nova!

I just clicked trough the most recent pages in this “Welcome” thread and when I saw the entry of cyrille99 travelling alone across Europe to concerts I must admit that I had to laugh, cause I have made the same experience very often in past 10 years

I still remember when in 1995 I saw Heather the first time with the “Walk this World” video on MTV (yes, once this was really a great music channel… just think of Ray Cokes and his “Most Wanted” etc.). I was kind of “enchanted” from the beginning and have followed from that time on her career via newsgroups (eg. former Heather Nova Mailinglist) and websites (mainly the ones by Heinz/Jörg/Steve and Gerd – sometimes even the official one ). My first concert was in November 1998 in Vienna and in the past 13 years I have seen her twelve times (mainly in Vienna, one time each in London, Tongeren and Cologne).
I like music and live concerts a lot and have been to more than 500 concerts in past 25 years – most of them around Vienna, some in London, some in other European countries like Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Hungary, Czech Republic, Slovakia. In my late twenties I finally started also my festival career (not easy for a non-beer drinker) and since then I tried to go once a year for a big festival like Rock Werchter, Hurricane, Primavera, Frequency, … - I am currently just in my plans for 2012 (maybe Roskilde or Rock Werchter? - I will see).

I would like to use this chance also to thank Gerd and the whole team here for your continous effort to keep us all updated and the chance to contribute via this forum.

I saw Heather for the first time in 2008 in Paris and I became a fan during this show.

I also saw Heather one time in 2010 (Paris) and 4 times in 2011 (Tienen, Saarbrucken, Paris and Tourcoing).

I will be at the Vooruit in Ghent next week.
