Send it up into the gulf stream Deep blue, shallow green (Aquamarine) Planes fly in the gulf stream, while the ocean is deep blue and shallow grean.

Close enough to the correct answer, congratulations!
The reference to the ocean was the gulf stream current which flows eastwards in the Atlantic. The reference to the plane was the Gulfstream jet. So really the answer was: Aquamarine Send it up into the gulf stream I think planes fly in the jet streams if they're travelling in the same direction it's blowing.

Ah, right. I guess I just always associated the whole song with the ocean, so the key was finding the plane reference.
