I got the whole show (apart from the first 10 minutes or so of the interview), as a 1.1 GB mpg file - video and audio thanks to VLC on Ubuntu linux.

Oh, and as for the rest of the show... I thought Bastien and the mixing got better as they went, definitely great by the end. The start of Like Lovers Do was funny . First the band is out of sync and playing I think Light Years instead. By the time Heather wrangles them, she starts to sing and I think gives the worst couple lines of vocals I think I've ever heard from her... her voice was messed up and way out of tune. But then she goes to talk to Bastien or something while Berit covers for her. After that, she comes back and sings the rest of the song gorgeously. Very cool.

I do notice some weird lyrical ommisions. Why was "I saw the redbird fly" removed from the end of Redbird? It felt very odd without it. And in Island, why a big pause where the second "He fucks with the beauty" should be? She sang it once, but not twice. She did change "You wanna come but your body won't let you" to "I wanna.. but I can't", but I think she's done that live before.

I liked the live Renegade but was disappointed she didn't have an extended Break with all three full lines. It's my favorite part of the song. But other than that it was great.

Overall the show was good even if the band seemed a little out of sync at times. It clearly wasn't her best show, but it still was great to listen to and they all did well even with my little nitpicks. I'm glad the venue made this available.

Notes:

1) I saved the entire concert as a single 1-gigabyte WAV file

2) This does not include the pre-show Interview (which was sort of blah anyway)

3) I clipped the WAV file into the individual songs, still as WAV files.

4) When I cut out songs, I cut them during the applause. I do not cut off intros and outros.

5) I did not fade in or fade out applause. I normally use transition effects or fade-in/fade-out when using Nero or Roxio

6) I left "Not Only Human" and "Heal" together as Track 6. There is no easy way to separate these two songs because they transitioned into one another.

7) I cut out the excess applause in between the two encores, perhaps a minute and a half of applause total.

8) I converted each song WAV file into an MP3 at highest quality.

9) I used WinZip because not everyone has RAR or uses it.

10) MegaUpload can be restrictive if too many people download, but if someone else wants to stick it somewhere else (like Sendspace) or has a premium account, feel free.

11) I have a dimeadozen account, but I haven't uploaded with it before, and I also think this one wouldn't qualify, since it began life as a lossy webcast, and there's apparently a possibility the broadcaster might sell the video.

12) If this is not proper to post the link to the file, please either delete my comment or let me know and I'll edit/delete.

Hey, it is very funny to read this news-ticker this morning of the show yesterday, thanks to Bernd, Cass and all the other commentators!

So she obviously also mentioned the "fuck" in "Island" - to continue this interesting discussion I agree with Cass on the probable reason to leave it out in "Blood of me", and as he does I think it is unnecessary to leave it out. I remember a live recording by Pearl Jam where Eddie during performing "Jeremy" sings "seemed a harmless little uhuhuhu" - nowadays the audiience mostly takes over this part

Anyway, every of your descriptions increases my excitement for the Stuttgart gig!

Not wanting to regurgitate what others have said already, I'll keep it brief - whilst clearly not her best gig, it was still very enjoyable, and a welcome bonus to be able to have online access to such an event; viewing on a PC you don't expect to get the best of sound anyway, so I ain't complaining... it was nice to get a feel for the band ahead of the real thing; I did think that that interview was total trash, obviously not on Heather's part (she must have the patience of a saint to endure the same boring questions over and over!) but that interviewer was rubbish, totally uninformed and clearly not an avid fan - to get the name of her first album wrong, then say it was four years since her last one, blah blah blah (why not have a genuine fan do such interviews, at least with someone like Gerd we would have had questions asked that us real fans would like answered, instead of the same old same old - I'm sure that the last thing Heather needed before she hit the stage; one thing though (and she said this in that 19 minute interview too) she stated that she would be playing songs from all of her albums... strange then that nothing from Glowstars featured in the setlist. Another thing I find quite strange is the fact that she only plays four songs from TJF (and the same ones, so far); just watching the show, I felt it would have worked better with a few more new ones mixed into the set. I'm now thinking (fingers crossed anyway!!) that there is more to come... how likely is it that Heather will head out on tour again during Spring 2009 with something akin to the Intimate Evening shows; I find it hard to believe that most of the songs from TJF would just be left to rest as studio versions and never be performed live... any thoughts on this??

I myself am thinking this is the perfect opportunity to do an acoustic tour of the U.S. with either just herself or herself and a cellist and mix in songs from TJF (with Out In New Mexico, please!) and acoustic versions of old songs. I'm sure she's much more likely to do that in Europe, but it would be cheaper to that in America where she might have to play smaller venues than it would be to bring a whole rock band here.

Gerd talked to the people at the venue and they said they were planning on selling the video online in November for about 14 or 15 euros, so if that goes through it probably won't be available in the archive.

Thanx for the link Fritz but it looks like if I realy want to watch this I'll have to buy it (and probably will).

look forward to see how they will get the rights for songs like "Heart and Shoulder" for their DVD, since Heather didn't manage to get them herself for her Live at Union Chapel DVD....
