I was at Bon Iver concert last night in Paradiso. I am still on a high from it. It was just so brilliant. Fantastic songs, fantastic band, fantastic crowd. Came home and played the album again. I would go to their concerts everyday if i could.

Tomorrow I go to Gotye. They have a lot to live up to

In a few hours I'm going to see Killing Joke, with Youth on bass (former bassplayer died a year ago).

He was the guy who 'discovered' Heather Nova.

I should thank him

I am back from a phantasic concert of the Austrian musician Hubert von Goisern in Mainz/Germany. He played 200 minutes nonstop!

My ideal concert:
1) starts at time advertised
2) lasts 30-45 minutes
3) no encores, then stops

then I can enjoy what I've planned, as planned, then go do something else

no they weren't all french, only the last two are.
the transmusicales festival was on several huge locations in/outside of Rennes, of which most were indoors, yes.

Little Joy on Saturday
Francoiz Breut ( at a tiny venue!) Tuesday next week - really looking forward to seeing her live again; it's been ages
Bat For Lashes in April: lead singer and songwriter Natasha is a lovely person so hopefully I'll get to talk with her though, given the venue, it may be that, concert over, they just disappear backstage...
There's also Shellyan Orphan this Friday, 'though I don't have a ticket for that. I thought they'd disappeared years and years ago.

I'm going to see a young, local, unknown band at a tiny venue on Monday. They played a free gig before another act I was there to see during the week and I thought they sounded rather promising.

I've got 2 tickets for the secret intimate Sophia gig in Brussels !

Only 80 people are allowed in !

Even if I hadn't got a ticket, I was still allowed in, because I know the singer, Robin.

(we mail)

The Sophia gig in Brussels was great but too short.

Robin dedicated 'Lost' to 'my friend Johan whose stephfather got buried today'.

Not sure if you know i met him after the concert in Frankfurt at the bar. I was talking with Will Foster when he came along and well i could briefly introduce myself and talk to him for a minute. I even mentioned your name!

The new songs (out 27/04/09) are very sad, even more sad than the previous Sophia songs.

I know you talked to Robin and mentioned my name.

I don't like being in the spotlight, but it was great him calling me 'a friend'.

The setlist consisted mostly out of songs from her new album, unfortunately. No To Be Gone, but she did play Today is a Good day.
It was the first day on her tour, which was pretty clear, it wasn't her best performance. But I may be biased since I had one of the lights glowing in my face the entire time so I couldn't look down on the stage without being blinded, also it gave me a migraine. But the concert was good, I had a great time.
