I have 4 Ipods, depending on which outfit I wear.

No seriously.

I'm not in the mood to listen to "Silent Night, Holy Night" today.

I listened yesterday to last.fm, at "similar artists to Patti Rothberg", a mid-1990's artist, and last.fm suggested me to listen to "Silent Night" by Joan Osborne, a mid 1990's artist as well. It was indeed the Christmas song. I skipped it.

Was Joan Osborne the one who had a short chart appearance with "What if God was one of us"?

I see. I never liked that song... and it somehow fits in with the idea of making a cover of Silent Night...

"Auerbachs Keller" in "Faust I." is named after "Auerbach in der Oberpfalz", where Christian is living.

I know his hometown, I've been there before several times.

But the history of the name of the restaurant is quite interesting. And according to this article, the 'Hofbräuhaus' in Munich is the most famous restaurant in the world

I noticed that Perry and Stan are playing a game of chess against each other - since October!

You didn't know that?

I mean, aren't they always playing a game with each other?

I check in on the Chess for new games every couple weeks or so, just in case there are any problems or new games... we are chess admins afterall.

I knew they are playing a game, but I was surprised it lasts since seven months already.

I suppose chess is a sort of war game and wasn't there a war called the 'hundred years war'? Maybe it's early days yet.
I stopped playing chess very soon after I started. Basically, I got fed up pretending it was all a big laugh and I didn't care about loosing. When of course I hate loosing. It's not the taking part that counts! Games are boring! The only interesting thing is winning!!!

I have learnt that Goettingen and Marburg are two really nice towns. I enjoyed them during my visit on Tuesday.

The Treysa station looks like every other station...

I learned today that in the internet there is even more crime as I thought. Well you all no email spam most likely. Responsible for the new HNN server I am fighting against robots and attacks against the server and you won't believe how many tries are done within a few seconds to break into this server. I am blocking new offending IP addresses daily, have to go through log files and stuff ...

I've learnt yesterday that former German chancellor Ludwig Erhard was a member of FC Cologne! A normal member, not a honorary member like Merkel in Cottbus!

Well yes, but look here:

Well, I had no doubts you were right, I was just surprised. If it had been Adenauer, it would've made more sense. But obviously he had not much interest in soccer.

Today I found out that Horatio Hornblower is the model for Captain Kirk. Star Trek was actually envisioned as "Horatio Hornblower in space"!!!

That's wonderful!

You really need to check out the miniseries from 1998 and onwards. Ioan Gruffud plays Hornblower (maybe you've seen him in King Arthur, Fanastic Four or 102 Dalmatians) and the series also have my childhood hero.

I have started the process of trying to relearn German before I start taking classes on it again, boy I sure have a long way to go. I have been using the Rosetta Stone software. For German, the software has a great many lessons.

I have about two weeks to raise my competency level to where I won't be completely embarrassing myself in class.
