As with all easter eggs, don't open it before Sunday!

Mh, interesting. Here it's on Sunday, because Saturday is still Lent time, as the Resurrection of Jesus was in the night between Saturday and Sunday (at least according to the belief).

Perhaps Saturday evening...? this would seem to tie in with the European tradition of christmas present opening on Christmas Eve rather than the Day...

Does anyone actually go beyond the purely literal story of Easter?

Maybe. I think it's wrong to give the Christmas presents on December 24 in the afternoon already, as this is only Christmas "Eve" - the day before Christmas.

I know the habit of celebrating Christmas on the late evening of December 24 or at midnight, but to celebrate Easter on Easter Sunday early morning at 5am. That would be a difference.

Is it true that there are Easter eggs, because during Lent time eating meat and eating eggs were forbidden, but the chickens still produced eggs, of course, therefore on Easter there were many eggs in store?

When I look out of the window, it looks more like Christmas with all that snow...

...That's actually quite ok...as long as for Christmas you ask for a spring or summer tour

Happy Easter all. I awoke this morning also to find snow outside my window. It is very picturesque yet springtime seems offended and is shining its many sunrays upon it. It will melt before lunch i reckon.

Not I. Only seen a pigeon, but it didn't bring me any chocolate eggs!

As far as it brings chocolate it's fine.

Strange. When I drove home by train yesterday, shortly before Würzburg, I saw a rabbit on a (snow-white) field - and I thought, ha, what a coincidence. Two minutes later I saw a pair of rabbits, and the in the next five minutes another four. I've never seen so much (wild) rabbits in a row. I wondered where they all came from.
Maybe they had a day off after the tiresome Easter work...

Well, rabbits have usually rabbits as parents. So no wonder you saw first one pair, later even more rabbits...
