The album is a solid effort, improves with each listen. For me the stand out tracks are Rewild Me, Some Things Just Come Undone and See Yourself. If I had to drop a track After All This Time is the one that makes my finger hover over the next button.

This is easily the weakest most boring Heather Nova album for me. Some of the songs are good on their own but sitting through the whole album is a real chore. Out In New Mexico is probably the best track. Every Soldier Is A Motherís Son has a good melody but is let down by dreadful lyrics. I find her voice too shrill on this album (she is an amazing singer generally) I feel like taking two Ibuprofen after it.

Youíre all being very literal about the ďfirst nameĒ thing. In English itís very clear sheís referring to a lover/partner by their name for the first time publicly in song.

Anyhow I like the record, though it would be mid table in the Heather Nova pecking order for me at the moment. Iím glad to see itís charting in some countries and making some of her investment back.

Some Things Just Come Undone is my favourite track though I was expecting a darker lyric to accompany the menacing sounding cellos.

Iím going to preorder the cd even if itís likely to be cheaper in general sale come May but happy to do a bit to support this project. Is that the final Tshirt design? Might just do a cd/tshirt combo.

I wonder what kind of numbers this record has sold having heard Heather commenting on how hard it is for musicians to make any money from records these days. I guess the money is in touring so I hope the returns are strong enough for indie artists like Heather to keep working on new music and making a good living.

Good interview, I don't think she seemed in a bad mood as someone suggested, apart from maybe when asked the question about The Archaeologist. I just don't think she ever comes across that warmly in interviews which is fine, perhaps she's just a naturally reserved person and puts it all out there in her lyrics instead.

Shame she has distanced herself from Virus of the Mind these days. It's by no means in my personal Heather Top 30 but sometimes a bit of a bop like that track is fun amongst all the acoustic stuff at a live gig!

Cool video to go with a beautiful song, nice to see Heather putting a video out there. Are there any music channels showing videos these days and not reality tv rubbish though, ?

Why would you buy a ticket then heckle? What a dickhead. I hope it's not her overriding memory of the show. Was there a good turnout?

It's on both UK iTunes and UK Amazon. Such a cool little mix.

So 'Lie Down In The Bed You Made' is the latest promo single. It's a 2 track release. What do we think of the Whistle Back remix, I'm enjoying the light electronica feel to it though I of course love the original too.

For whoever was asking a single these days is just the track that gets sent out to radio in the hope the stations will pick it up and play it and thus promote the album a bit. 'Girl On The Mountain' is probably the best track for this purpose I'd say.

I do miss proper physical singles of yesteryear which came with b sides and bonus tracks.

Four part interview regarding the new album at link below. I sense Heather was a little frustrated here and there with the interviewer.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnstwSj5KUc

I've only played the new album three times so far due to time constraints and it's a record I want to sit properly with.

I'm loving the vibe to the record, and sonically it's like a relative of 'Storm' to my ears. Girl On The Mountain, Lie Down In The Bed You Made and On My Radar are my early favourites though no doubt this will change. I didn't realise so many people didn't know that Lie Down In The Bed You Made is a saying rather than a literal command

Thanks for that. Unusual for her to be so candid in an interview but it's honest and makes an interesting backdrop to the album listening experience.

In response to the has she ever had a standout single the answer for the UK is yes. 'I'm No Angel' got the biggest push, it was on 2x cd single plus on the Radio 2 playlist. 'Virus Of The Mind' also got promotion as a single but to a lesser extent after 'I'm No Angel' didn't commercially do as well as hoped. 'London Rain' was alos a 2 x cd single release but not as marketed as those two 'South' singles.

Listened to the iTunes snippets and of course the album should only be judged listening to as a whole piece but I'm not instilled with a hell of a lot of excitement for it. That will probably change. It sounds a little too close to MOR for me. I thought she got her mojo back on '300 Days...'

I missed the painting. I love her art and would have been interested in buying a piece for my new apartment. Does anyone know how Heather the Painter works? Is she open to having a piece of work commissioned to her?

Happy enough with the winner. Stay would have been a rather bland choice, works as an album track but definitely not a highlight of the album for me.

Beautiful Ride by far. Enjoy the lyrics, it's a bit anthemic too. Stay's a good enough track too but I'm really shocked it's reached the final two.

Two of my favourites on the album, and much better than the other semi finalists, but I had to go with DSTSY - I just find it a little more interesting and leftfield musically though Beautiful Ride is so anthemic I feel bad for voting against it.

The only covers on the album are the bonus live tracks included on the deluxe edition. The other 14 tracks are all originals. 'All Bets Are Off', 'Grace' and 'History Boys' are all gorgeous songs. I think the best work she did last year was on the limited edition e.p. 'Yes, December' which she released just before Christmas.

If I'd done an album rank these two songs would be near the bottom but I voted for 'Stay' simply because I'm enjoying the greater instrumentation on this album. Neither should be in the final though.

I think you're being a little too literal in your interpretation of the touring comment Johan ;)

Anyhow, it was great if a little random to see Heather appear on one of the main tv channels in the UK again. I hope it translates into some sales for her.

I like both songs but find them quite boring compared to the two songs in the first quarter finnal. Well, Boring is the wrong word but you know what I mean. I voted for 'Moon'.

My two favourites, aaarrghhh!! DSTSY is classic Nova but I went for UTRIR as it became very personal to me lyrically.

The lyrics in UTRIR may be a little obvious in theme but I still find the idea and intention so inspirational. I had a really dreadful three months in autumn personally for various reasons and this song became like a personal anthem to me.

Voted for TTCR - I'm all about Heather plus full band sound these days. I love her acoustic work but it was a case of acoustic overload for me with the album prior to the new one.

Clouseau, no, you can only download from the Amazon site of the country you're in. I'm sure some pc expert may know a way around this in terms of making your computer think it's in Germany ;) but in terms of a straightforward download then you wouldn't be able to use amazon.de for an mp3.

Most radio friendly track on the albun I'd say, if not my favourite song on the album ( though I do like it! ). Hopefully Heather still has someone who approaches pluggers these days - this track is perfect for UK Radio 2.

Just thinking lyrically and emotionally this is just a perfect soundtrack for the Games.

It would be lovely to see management or whoever does these things getting the track sent out to radio/tv and it being picked up for montages or even if somehow organisers of the ceremonies could hear it and get her to perform it. OK, it's a bit of a dream and although I know huge commercial success isn't Heather's main motivation I'd love to see such a public exposure of her music.
