The melody of the first part of the song reminds me strongly of "Hollow".
Don't know what's "Mother Ocean esoteric" about the lyrics though (as the author writes). Of course it's from a songwriter's/poet's view and not from a sportswoman's ones.

Yes, I know that.

I was just wondering about certain parts of the song like this "hiya"-break (I thought, perhaps a Native American chant for the dead?) or the line "Begin the journey, that you started long ago". Also if "wreckage" means the dead body.
But itís okay and I translated it, leaving it to other people to interpret it the way they want.

Did Heather ever play "Over the fields" at her patreon home concerts and tell anything further about the song (lyrics)?

I wrote to her, if I was allowed to play it at my fatherís funeral, as this song, with the lyrics as I understand them, would fit perfectly. She answered back nicely, that that was no problem. But I didnít want to ask her about the meaning of certain parts of the song, because perhaps too personal. So I thought, may be she talked about it, when playing it. As it would help for translation for my relatives.

They have just shown a segment about Paul Matic's music project in a broadcast called "Studio 2" on Austrian TV station ORF, where they also mentioned and showed Heather shortly.
Matic said, that they had sent her the song and got no reply for some time, but then she answered, that she loved the poem and if they still wanted her contribution.

The broadcast (in German) can be viewed in the ORF TVthek for 8 days, but as far as I know from Gerd and Bene, some broadcasts can't be seen in Germany (or other countries)? https://tvthek.orf.at/profile/Studio-2/13890037/Studio-2/14133311

Funnily, my mother has told me lately, she even knew W. H. Auden, because he regularly went shopping in the store, where she worked ages ago.

Coincidentally W. H. Auden lived near my native place and his former house is now a museum/memorial place. Auden is also buried in that village and I was already at that cemetery over 30 years ago for other reasons, though I can't remember visiting his grave back then, but I guess I will catch up on that soon.
Anyway, great poem (already loved it in "4 weddings and a funeral") and Maticí voice really reminds a lot of Cohen.

My heart and prayers go out to each and everyone (humans and animals, the latter always so easily forgotten in times of war) in the Ukraine and in Russia, who only wants to live in sister&brotherhood and peace. Not only the Ukrainians have to suffer a lot, but also the people in Russia, who donít want this war, are affected now, because of a leader they perhaps didnít even vote for.

All I can do is donating and doing energetic-spiritual work as always, although I wish I could contribute so much more.

Playing U2ís "One" and "Love is bigger than anything in its way" (beautiful BBC orchestra version of 2017) and Patti Smithís "People have the power" on heavy rotation during the last weeks. Kind of mantra-like.
Itíd be so great to "wrestle the world from fools" (one line of the Patti song) by rallying, fraternizing and singing them down. I wished the Ukrainians and Russians would do that, laying down the weapons, drinking a vodka to peace, singing and going home, letting Mr. Putin play war with himself alone.
Just a little, naive dream of mine...

Beautiful album, sensitive voice along with nice piano and guitar arrangements.

I love her song "Surrender" from this album a lot, but the other songs are very good, too.

And I've listened to some songs by BOY lately, they make excellent music as well.

I'm just listening to it. Congrats to you and all the people involved in this project - it's really good!

Edit: The beginning of "The great myth" reminds me a bit of Pink Floyd's "High hopes" (which is one of my favourite songs at the moment), because of the bells. But generally, your music is similar profound and sophisticated as theirs.

Heather canít ask us things like set list wishes, feedback, etcÖ, because itís not a "safe space" here? Sorry, I donít get that. Itís not something top secret or very private Iím expecting her to share with us in this forum.

I respect your opinion, of course, but donít share it. For me, thatís not about connecting, but excluding.

Ah, now I remember you mentioned Patreon back then! (It was the first and last time I have ever read about it, so I didnít keep it in mind.)

Well, I totally understand and respect, that Heather needs a way to earn money, especially in these times and now obviously uses this Patreon platform for that.

I just really wonder, why she is speaking about "creating this online member community, a place of genuine connection and exchange between myself and my most loyal supporters" and that she misses the interaction with people and "wants to make this a very special place, in which you feel appreciated and rewarded, and where we can all connect".
I have always thought that this forum here is the place for that!? She could have connected with us here for ages, if she had really wanted to, especially since the moment, as it has become her official forum. She could have asked us about feedback, wishes for setlists, etc... (I guess, then more than 4 or 5 left longtime members would post here regularly...)

So again, I fully respect her approach of earning her living this way (although it means I Ė without a cc - am then out by that) and it is definitely not meant as a "mean attack" against Heather, but itís just something I have been wondering about, actually not only since yesterday, but for years and since her words on this Patreon page even more.

A really lovely and stunning story about her parents. And that she had already known Vincent before, though I wasn't able to understand the place (a ...palace?) where they had met the first time.

I couldnít see the list with firefox - for what reason ever -, but I can with google chrome. (Iím not on Spotify either.) Well, I know most of the artists, but only a few songs of the list, but e.g., of course I like the Kate Bush one (wasnít there "Running up that hill" on that list, too, some time ago?) and "Everything I wanted" by Billie Eilish a lot. And I love "Hurt" in the version by Johnny Cash. For me, one of the few times, where I like the cover much better than the original Ė itís a masterpiece and always makes me cry. Iím fond of "From the stalls" by Angus and Julia Stone, but donít know this one.
