Hi there, I was reading your post and responces and I wanted to offer a thought. While you are playing a nice soft song like Truth and Bone often the space between notes are just as important as the notes themselves.

Meaning a nice pause in the strumming directly after "stripping down" (let chord ring) "to truth and bone" and then continue to strum. The silence adds to the feel and emotion a great deal. I enjoy playing Heathers music as well. She is really a special song writer. As far as finger picking, I wouldnt worry about that until you "feel" you are capable.

Anyway, I wanted to offer my two cents. Happy playing friend!

Sonic Youth - Rather Ripper is exactly what you might expect to hear on a sonic recording. There is some great guitar on this record. I have always loved the extended jams and there are plenty on this one.

I would like to order a physical copy of Jasmine Flower. I bought the online version but it doesnt feel as good as an original copy in my hand. How do I go about securing a copy of Jasmine Flower at a reasonable price in U.S. currency?

If it is reasonable, I would also like to purchase Storm and Redbird. Can anyone let me know what the U.S. costs would be? Thanks in advance.

Mad Season - Above

"Mad Season" was a one album side band consisting of Mike McCready of pearl jam, Layne Staley of alice in chains, Mark Lannegan and Barret Martin of Screaming trees.) This is a diamond! I highly suggest giving it a listen if you like raw, powerful bluesy punches to the gut.

You dirty dog....you dirty dirty dog. I read the first post, jumped out of my chair and made the other guys who share my office squeel with glee because I was so happy. Then I emailed my woman and told her to request off now.... And then I read on...

You dirty dirty dog. I was even going to buy the first beer. But now, when Heather does come to the US (and we are in our 60's) I will wait for you to buy the first beer Cass. =)

Additionally, I would like to write our press releases, while Gerd can probably do all the press contacts.

I would also like to sell our tickets and stand at the merchandising stall to sell our t-shirts and stickers and coffee mugs to our fans...

Johan (with some cool sunglasses) can probably be our bodyguard and security.

Anyone with a good video camera here? This person can do all the embarrassing backstage footage that we can put as bonus on our first DVD...

ok now that Bernd has all the marketing and press coverage squared away, I think it might be a sufficient time to write a song hehe.

I think what we need to make this whole "Heathersexuals" band thing to work is a couple of female dancers. Who doesnt love a band with a few ladies doing there thing on stage? The music will be for the ears. The dancing for the eyes...

Well, I believe the next US president will have a lot of damage control to do. They will most certainly be a better president than the current "Resident of the united states." There are always brighter times ahead.

I am a practicing Wiccan. I feel somehow connect to this Earth in a spiritual way. I dont believe religion can be considered the deciding factor in your question of value. I believe your parents and other respected adults in your childhood help to instill your core values and morals.

It will be a nice day when even our American president can leave other people alone to practice whatever faith they feel suits their lives. It bums me out to see a gun slinger president make so many misinformed mistakes. America pays the cost for his ignorance/arrogance. Does he really have any values at all?

I do think I have learned a lot from heather. Her approach to writing something blissful is inspiring as I am sure we all understand here. I try to add heathers sense of belief to song writing. She does it the best.

Hey where do I go to try out for the lead guitar spot? I can play lead guitar (and sing back-up if need be). I cover a few Heather songs already. Valley of Sound, I'm alive, Flying as she falls, These walls. Not to mention all the songwriting I have done over the years. Keep Rockin!

p.s. I really think the "Heathersexuals" is a fantastic band name!

One of my finest sounding guitars is the 92' Telecaster. It was American made. It is not like Heathers (Semi-acoustic) No "F" sound hole. Very clean. I have seen plenty of American made semi-acoustics in the 90's. I don't think they are a Japan only production.

On a different note Martin, Estelle has put a lot of hard work into the Guitar Tab section of this site. It is a GREAT place to learn some of your favorite Heather Nova songs. It is the best collection of Heather songs you will find on the internet. Good luck with your learning of the six strings. Feel free to message me if you ever want to talk guitar. I spend most of my free time playing. (22 years now). Peace

Well I found a audience recording of the december 12th show and I have to say the three remaining members and jr bonham sounded tight. They certainly rocked the house.

Now I am searching for a cleaner recording. The audience recording that is floating around is a bit heavy in reverberation due to distance. Message me if you would like the audience recording.

Good day Cassander, I thought I would add my own two cents.

I don't think anyone gets their values from the bible or any other book. Values are the emotions and feelings each of us have inside that help us make the right decisions throughout life. Myself being a non-christian have learned my values from my family, my own life experiences and my own good judgement. I believe the bible is A reference text for many people. I have read the bible several times and I find it fascinating that so many people actually believe all of what is written in the book. Most of it is just not possible.

It's a fact that not every word is literal. So that means it must be open to the individual to decipher. To me, that implies that the bible is a sort of hand guide on how to live life. Like any good book, you can take what works for you and add it to your own life.

I just think it is a shame that so many people have died due to religious beliefs. Life is bigger than religion.

But honestly, normally I decide between four or five Heather gigs where to go. When I decide on which one or two I will go, this indeed depends on many factors, like do I have time, do I need a hotel, do I already know the city or not, or is it an interesting route to go there. An EURO game with Germany would be such a factor as well. Why going to the Heather concert in city X when Germany plays at the same time, let's say, against The Netherlands in the Quartel Finals, when there is a Heather concert the very next day in city Y, which is also possible for me to go? Then I go to city Y instead of city X. Of course, you might ask what happens if she plays for example here, where I live, in Nuremberg, at the time of an important German game. Then I do say, she shouldn't wonder if the concert is not sold out, it's her management's fault then.

Bernd cracks me up. I have never been to the city of Y or even the local city X. I wish I had the kind of selection of Heather Nova shows to decide on. I am still praying for that US East coast tour. <fingers still crossed>
