Just downloaded the one from Berkeley. The voice are kind of faded like if the sound wasn't recorded from the soundboard, are all the recording like this ?

Unfortunatelly, we cannot watch the Berlin show on Arte website from the US
I may try to watch it from my work laptop with a Europe proxy...

I had a lovely evening with Heather
It was a beautiful venue, although it was half full (considering the number of europeans living in the Bay Area, you could have hoped for more). The audience was nice but always with this kind of 'polite' feeling when you are in a seated venue. Heather had a standing ovation for the encore and at the end though, and suddenly the crowd felt warmer. Only negative point was the sound wasn't great, maybe it was better after a while - or i got used to it, it didn't spoil the show though.

Set list for me was good with mixed feelings for me. I don't like Treehouse on the album and didn't like it either as an opening song. Otherwise she did 3 of my favorites from the new album (Girl on the mountain, Moon River Days and Archeologist) and I loved them.
Was surprised there was so many from Oyster/Siren, I really enjoyed Winterblue and Island that I didn't listen for a while (but why agaaaiiiin Paper Cup...). Surprised H&S was in slow mode. Loved that she played I Miss My Sky. Fool for you was the highlight for me, so many personal feelings on that song, she got me (yeah she really got me ) - funny how you know she's going to play this one when she sit on the piano Little disappointed they was only one song from previous album (and none from Jasmine) and not the best one really (Until the race is run) I missed Motherland... but you can't play everything i know.
Arnulf was at his best, he really impressed me (esp on the guitar) and i didnt have such memories of his performance (maybe i just dont remember). Didn't really like the too basic rythm box on upbeat songs, she's done much better on previous tour with beat box, anyway it was ok most of the time.
My wife also liked the concert although she doesn't know much of the songs (although they regularly play in the car - she thought we were going to see Anna Ternheim "yeah...one of your girls")

Unfortunately I wasn't able to wait Heather to come and sign, hopefully next time she comes (if ever) or i come to her, it will be less hectic times.

I will be in Berkeley Didn't see Heather since 2010 (when I had to fly from India to Paris ) so yeah I'm quite exited (didn't read anything about the concerts so far to keep the surprise). I'm not a big fan of the new album (although it is growing in me since I listen to it a lot during my commute to work) but still now that the concert is next week, I really can't wait to be there (yes I HAD to use this smiley for my first message on HNN for ages )
Anyone else is going ? Sorry you cannot go Robin but I see you're can at least go to other ones so that's great.

"i lost a baby" couldn't be an image ? From the day I heard the song in Paris I asked myself if she was talking of a real baby or not (remember thinking of this in the train the day after the concert)

If anyone interested, those are the chords for 'Stay' (Waiting Estelle to 'do the job' properly )

Capo 2
Verse
Am Em Am Em G Fmaj7 G
Chorus
C G Am F
C G Am F
when finishes with '... more' :
C G FMaj7

Not 100% about Em, it may be some alteration of it, corrections welcome

First I like the CD picture very much (I don't like the other promo pics, though I still like the pastel shades), the best one with South imho. And I like the letters.
However for an album that is supposed to be the rockest ever, the picture give more a peaceful feeling.

About the Pledge thing, I think most of the things are reasonnably priced and I'm happy to see that already 44% of fundraising has been reached. I agree with the comments it would be good to see the pictures of the items though, if I can blindly buy a 15 euros CD, it's not the same for the rest. (I'm tempted by the handwritten lyrics btw, but I would have to choose the song... and I'm not very attached to things, but otoh, this is also to support Heather)

I'm not sure I understand the frustration around the 250 euros songs since I have no doubt that :
- the songs will emerge on the internet sooner or later (and yes I can wait one or two years...)
- if they were amazing songs, Heather would have released them already
I also think the 250 euros price is not the best commercial choice (esp. when you cannot hear at least a sample) but there's nothing to get angry about, seriously.

However, I'm more aligned with the 10% charity comments. It turns to be a general kind of redemption nowdays to collect money for anything and say 'oh you know some % will go to a charity'. If Heather have a cause that she wants to sustain, I have no problem she advertise it to her fans, and her fans are free to support it or not (and if they don't that doesn't mean they don't support other causes

Isn't Cafe de la danse in Paris a standing venue ? Maybe that's why there's no real row booking. If ever I can arrange a trip to Paris, I may take a VIP ticket, it would be my unique concert in 4 years so... I met Heather after concerts quite few times (special memories in Lyon after concert cancellation when she spent 20 minutes with us taking pics and chat, and in Lausanne when she signed my guitar) and I think the 'organized' meet and greet could be disappointing, certainly depends how many people are there. I understand the concern about '2 classes fans' but (since we all agree artists have to make more money of their concerts) would it be better to raise the average price of the ticket ? I may sound more equitable but could also disqualify people who cannot afford to buy a ticket at 40 euros.

I imagine that if Heather think it is not good enough for it to be released or played live, she has good reasons.

I was in Varanasi, India for this eclipse. We've been terribly lucky because it was rainy season but the sky was clear, and I enjoyed so much
Being in Varanasi itself was an amazing experience and the crowd along the Ganga river was huge.
It was the 2nd total solar eclipse of my life

I just think that Heather music doesn't evolve alot now so a different perspective is always interesting, especially if the next album is more rock, something new around drums and guitars would be welcomed (there are lacks on Redbird itself)
Of course Heather and Felix must keep their freedom to say yes or no.
About the management itself, I think it is logic in the sense they have given up all ambition and will just continue to live their business on the current fan base, with the every same tour dates, etc... (don't mistaken me, I'm perfectly fine with it)

Not that I have a strong opinion on this, but it is always good for an artist to have an external pov on his work, considering it is done by someone skilled and implied.
At least I would like Felix to let production (and especially the arrangements) to someone else for next albums.

Well everybody knows I'm a fan of Jean-Jacques Goldman so I listen a lot.
I listened a lot the lastest Francis Cabrel album, think it is very good. I listen to Zazie from time to time, and Michel Jonasz (esp. the Mister Swing album). I recently started to listen some old Alain Souchon songs. Sometimes I listen to CDs Estelle offered me like Constance Verluca and Debout sur le Zinc.

I've just listened to "Truth & Bone" (the B-Side version) and I've just been blown away !
Since I arrived in India, I don't listen a lot of music, and I mainly listen to french singers (it's good to hear your native language...). So I listen Heather less than before. The good thing about it is when you listen again to some songs you didn't hear for a while....well, you know why you are an Heather fan
