That's what I said.

Berit will play lead guitar, so Vincent playing is not to be for granted, at all. Or as a bassist, but that would be surprising.

The bio on Vincent's website says he's born in France. The French lines make sense.

I used to play with a musician some times ago, and indeed, it gave the songs another dimension.

Well, in the future, maybe....

Thanks for the "dylanesque" ; it's a pleasure to be compared to such a guy !

... on a small acoustic tour, and acoustic guitar parts are easier than long, electruc, solos.

Well :
- the tour is anounced on Berit's agenda, so Berit will be lead guitar on the tour.
- if Berit is lead guitar, Vincent isn't (unless Heather does want two leads guitar, which doesn't really make sense)
- either Vincent will play someting else, or he won't play in this tour.

Vincent maybe won't play in the shows. Recording is something, and Vincent did it great, but you can mess up and start again, things like that. I am not sure Vincent feels comfortable enough to play live, with other musicians, when any wrong note, any error, will affect the whole band.

There will be a bassist, probably Arnulf, who can play other intruments, which is always useful.

Typo.

I meant "can't", of course.

Yo CAN'T play a rock show without a bass, unless, of course, if it's your musical signature.

Everytime

Storm
One Day In June
Aquamarine

Fool For You

(almost equality)
Let's Not Talk About Love
All I Need
You Left Me A Song
River Of Life
Drink It In

------------

I Wanna Be Your Light

There's something strange about Storm : apart from I Wanna be Your light, I like all the songs, but if I listen the whole album, I enjoy it but not THAT much. I guess it has too much echo and high-pitches instruments and voice, which kind of gives me headache (I'm very sensitive to sounds, and high-pitched ones).

Spread the songs into two albums with other songs less high-pitched in between, and I'll enjoy them twice more.

Singing You Through

----------

Done Drifting
This Body
Mesmerized
Wicked Game

A Way To Live
Welcome

The Sun Will Always Rise

There's something tiring something tiring for my ears in the album sounds. The arrangements. Too much echo, too much high notes and sounds, i don't know.

It was fin writing it.

In the series, when she steps to the fire, naked, beautiful, gracious, she has perfect body.

Actually, she should have a hanging postpartum belly, straws on it, leaving blood drops where she walks, and probably walk less graciously and/or have a tired face...

My Pearl album won't arrive soon.

I am listening to the songs on Amazon music.
If I manage to download them, I'll bring them on holidays to tab them there next week.

Yeah, Sea Glass has a great break.

I could be ok with your interpretation for Stay if Heather was careful not overusing this structure. For, me Heather uses this structure in Stay chorus just because she uses it all the time. .

Let's say that when I hear C G Am F, it's like when you hear desire / fire : the first poem who put the words together had a really good idea, but when it's the 100th time, well, let's calm down with it.

When I hear a chord structure or a melody overheard, it does to more or less the same feeling you'll feel when you meet an overused rhyme or image : you're noticing it, and you know that's easy ; once in a while, well, that's life, but more often is too often.

1- The Archaeologist, Sleeping Dogs
3- On My Radar, Women's Hand
5- Serengeti
6- I'm Air
7- Moon River Days (by the time the album came out, it was Moon River Days at home
8- Treehouse
9- Sea Glass - lyrics would put it higher, but the global song sound doesn't convince me)
10- Sea Change very nice, but a bit repetitive

11- Lie Down In The Bed You've Made
12- Girl on the Mountain

13- This Humanness

Tough job ; this album is really one of my favourites and I really like songs 1 to 10. I appreciate the 3 others as well, but a bit less. This Humanness is the only one I tend to skip often.

1- Do Something That Scares You
2- Everything Changes

4- Burning To Love
3- Stay

5- I'd Rather Be
6- The Good Ship Moon
7- Save A Little Piece Of Tomorrow

Then, the tracks I always skip :

8- Turn The Compass Round (i liked the acoustic version, but I'm not at all into album arrangements)
9- Higher Ground
10- Beautiful Ride
11 and 12- Stop The Fire, Until The Race Is Run, maybe my two less favourite songs from Heather.

300 Days At Sea is my less favourite album.

You are native English speaker and a poet. A song will be saved if the ryhymes are really good, or the images evocative, even if you don't like the music much. A song musically good won't find its way u to you if the lyrics are plain.

I'm non-native English speaker, which makes that, at SOME point, lyrics just ok but not much will be enough to me if the music is ok too. But In JUST can't stand anymore some chords structures (especially) the C G Am F chords structure, which is and absolute easy structure (when you use it, you get automatically a catchy melody) and that Heather uses too much, especially on 300 Days. It's easy, and not original. One song on the album, well, ok, but more, not.
On TWIF, if I remember right, only Radar has this structure, and it's fine, because it's just one song, so I'm not under the impression to hear always the same kind of melody.

There's at least 8 songs I like very very much.

Damn, I was young.

1- Beautiful Storm
2- Out In New Mexdico (which is actually better than Beautiful Storm, but it's by hearing the first notes of Beautiful Storm that I fell in love with the album, so...)
3- Follow Me In Grace

4- Hollow
5- If I Should Die - almost the whole song in great, but the melody is weak or weird at some -small - moment
6- Looking For The Light

7- Say Something
8- Ride - it's a good song, but I got tired of it, for it's playing live more often than other songs from this album that would deserve to be played more often
9- Every Soldier is A Mother's Son
10- Out Of A Limb
11- Maybe Tomorrow - it's not that bad, but i got tired of it
12- Always Christmas. Meh.

I guess no, but it's hard to say, since I'm only playing since TJF.

I don't remember if we agreed or not.
We didn't have a poll for TWIF.

We particularly disagree on 300 Days.

It was quite in the end of the session, and I had been playing the song about a dozen times before. There was always something going wrong, especially with this part of the song. Usually, I play it quite slower, and I need to focus on keeping breath in long sentences, and I guess this distracted me from other things like pronunciation, and well, it never went well, so I started playing / singing again, and again (and again).
Besides, recording usually makes me nervous (while playing live, not at all). And I'm the kind of person that's almost nervous. I'm not used to nervousness, so I don't manage it easily. I'm not used to.

Maybe I started being fed up, unconsciously, because I played it faster that usual, but I didn't realized on the moment.
I msut have been eager to have it done. Or I wanted to finish as soon as I could, before messing up, I don't know, but, well, I played the song faster than I usually do.

Btw, I think that for a non-French speaker, Mamie is more interesting, because the melody of this one is richer and more sophisticated than the melody of the two others.
La raison du plus fort, especially, is probably boring for non-French speaker. I like it a lot, though - but I speak French.

WHen I listen closely, I'm getting somehow bored of several songs, but unlike 300 Dans or Redbird, I like the sound in ereal, so for background music, it's ok. Or, at the contrary, when I have the occasion to play the record loud, it's ok too, because the musicians are good.
But except Rewild Me, STJCU, and, let' say, See Yourself (and, weirdly, Your Words),and Over The Fileds with its interesting story, I don't find real gems in the album.

Well, the album won't end up in my favourites, but not in my bottom ones, either, escpecially thanks to the musicians, and to the general album mood.

Oh, thanks for the comment about the voice ! I'm always thinking it's very common and unnoticeable.

If we had a bit more time, I'da had chosen to record a song in English , so that you can understand the lyrics.

Online by now, there is one quite sad song, called Mamie, about the last (several !) years of her "life", when the hrart was still ebating, but there was absolutely nothing more, except fear, pain anx anxiety in her eyes.

The second one, La raison du plus fort, is a funny song, in which I adapt morals of La Fontaine fable lines and proverb to parent-child situations, and explain I (the parent) will win anyway.

The third one, Daenerys & moi, is me mocking TV shows, for producers and scenarists are able to create unbelivable and perfect dragons, but a realistic pregnancy or post-partum seems to complicate for them.

Unlike Heather and Verena, my lyrics are more story-telling than poetry. And more often more humorsictic. It's neither better nor worse, it's just different.

I promise you that when we record again in September, I'll record at least one English song.
