And indeed, it was the same exact show. So a new show will be on Monday, hopefully.

Ok - here's a better recording I made Friday night, grabbing the stream directly with FlashGot:

Looks like the winner is down to Clouseau's realistic side and pessimistic side. *sigh*

You liked the show, I take it?
I'm still not sure if Friday's show will be different or not. They list the late night shows as "replays", but they also say the debut show will be on both Monday and Friday. Confusing. And no idea how long this will go on - probably depends on how successful it is. Does anyone actually listen to Transcend Radio? My main issue was that it was too focused on the hosts since they didn't have any guests and seemed self-promotional. The report between Heather and Felix was slightly awkward at times but very warm and funny at others. My most natural and funniest part was when Felix kept going on about Tina Turner and Heather said she never knew he was such a fan. Just had a funny overtone to it that seemed to indicate good radio chemistry. I guess I liked the places where I saw their differences in opinion the most. Like how Felix saw Choices as a song about alcoholism and Heather saw it as a song about choices. And how Felix seemed to think Heather's background was what allowed her to be creative while Heather said that other backgrounds would be equally creative but might produce different material. I've already Heather talk about her process a few times, but she seemed to do a good job here. Heather's process sounds a lot like mine, when I ever actually write. Especially in regards to turning off the inner critic initially and then reving it back up when editing.

Ah - I thought the second broadcast might work better for Europeans, but I didn't calculate exactly. I thought more people would be interested in this. I recorded it just-in-case, though, and try again later this week to see if it'll play without the pauses.
Is mp3 ok or would you like a wav? It's just Heather and Felix talking and playing the normal studio versions of songs. Maybe I'll make mp3 of what I have now and then see if I can do it better later before uploading a wav.

European countries are quite capitalist as well. I actually use StubHub to buy sports tickets way below the price the team charges quite frequently.
I also was easily able to buy tickets to Heather's show in the U.S. I imagine bigger name artists in Europe sell out quite quickly. Heather is pretty popular in Netherlands, but she's also playing all over the country and it's a small country. So people can choose their local show. And this is the farthest-in-advance I've ever seen! I wonder if Heather will release a new record before the tour? Maybe next summer?

Can Europeans not listen to the show? I didn't know there were any restrictions.

I did record it. I'll try deleting the silence in the parts where it came up and see if it's smooth. It might be a buffering issue? It ended abruptly for me, not sure if this issue affected everyone, so I don't have the entire closing words from Heather.
I figured other people more experienced at this would be recording it (I just used audacity, though I suppose I should have tried stream transport or something). I'll post it if no one else will. The show included three songs from Heather as well as a number of songs from other artists. The main part of the show featured Felix interviewing Heather about her creative process. Heather's songs were The Good Ship Moon (Felix said it was his favorite, which he's told me before as well), Beautiful Ride, and Valley of Sound. Valley of Sound was played after a Jeff Buckley song.

I had the sound drop out once during an interview and then a few times during Valley of Sound. When Heather was wrapping things up, she got cut off by Queen of the Minor Key, a song not part of the show (I had heard it on the station earlier today).
Did other people experience this as well? Anyone know whether Friday's show will be the same or a new one? New one next Monday? Seems promising, though it's hard to judge since this wasn't a normal episode with a guest artist.

I am trying to listen to the radio station now to test it and it's not working. I hit play and no sound comes out. I've tried both Firefox and IE.
Other websites continue to play sound normally.

PST or PDT? I imagine they actually mean PDT. PDT is 9 hours ahead of CEST, yeah.
It seems there's no archive of old shows? That seems odd. I guess we'll have to try to record it incase it's good.

These are all identical to what's on the bonus disc with 300 Days At Sea, right? So one could rip the same audio right off the CD?

What do you mean the team owns itself? Who are the actual people who own it? The current players? What about other employees? When an employee leaves, do they cease owning it?
And for a long time, at least in baseball, the nicknames were not official. Maybe they are now. They are used frequently. But traditionally, the city and league is most important for the team name. The other great thing about soccer is, when watching on TV, there are no ads during the game. Very easy to ignore them during halftime (who ever watches TV during halftime?). I also find it a more interesting sport to watch than most, even if I don't watch much other than the Euro and World Cup (typical American, I know).

It's designed to drive down the salaries of young players and to help balance out the teams by letting bad teams get good young players. Quote: , and why there is usually no promotion and relegation. Because in most sports, there are no minor leagues (other than college) and the owners and leagues are powerful and have monopoly legal protection. Minor league teams can't compete and make deals so that they get players from major league teams while handling everything else (for hockey and baseball). Quote: Also why many teams have an owner, Wait - don't all teams have an owner? The oddest owner in American sports is the city of Green Bay which owns the American Football team, the Packers. Quote: why some teams moved from own state far away to another state, Sometimes from one country to another! The Montreal Expos moved to Washington DC to become the Nationals in baseball. : ) It's not common today, but as the West Coast became more populated, a lot of east coast teams moved out there. A few others have moved to try to make more money. I guess in basketball and football it's a bit more common today - just a matter of trying to go to the most profitable markets. Quote: why college sports is of any importance, Some people here wonder why pro sports are of any importance! American Football was originally a purely college game for over 100 years. It was a way for colleges to compete with each other. There's a ton of tradition there. Also, Americans give a lot of money to the colleges they attended and sports keeps alumni connected. I guess there's more identification with the schools. And for basketball and American football, these are the way young players get trained instead of having minor leagues. College hockey and baseball are much less popular. Quote: why the national anthem is played before each game. Cause Americans are overly patriotic. I donno. Very strange custom. Quote: And what's so interesting about baseball or American football... American football blends extreme power and athleticism with tons of violence. I'm not a fan, but a lot of people like those things. Baseball's an awesome sport. What's not to like? Pitching and hitting are virtually artforms and fielding involves lots of athleticism. There's no clock - a team can always come back and win no matter what the score. And one team always wins - no ties, no penalty kicks. You play until one team wins. Quote: also the fantasy names of the teams (Bulls or Giants or Redskins) sound very weird to me. Fantasy names? Bulls are an animal. They represent strength and power. Redskins, alas, is a racial slur. It really needs to change. It's embarrassing. No excuse for that name. :( But don't European teams have nicknames too? Like "The Red Devils"?

I thought America was supposed to be more corporate/capitalistic, yet it's in Europe that the biggest sports teams have corporate ads as the defining feature of their jersey. You'd think the name of the team that plays in Munich is Deutch Telekom, not Bayern.
Never understood this. I mostly just watch international soccer, thankfully, but pro soccer jerseys always look really tacky.

This question seems almost nonsensical to me these days. Heather Nova is the only musician whose work I follow completely and I must hear every song. No one else is even close. I really, really like certain albums or scores, but I don't think I've listened to the complete works of anyone else. And trying to order 2-5 would be more about my favorite albums or scores than an artist as a whole. Plus, comparing across genres is a nightmare.

Thanks for the info, Heinz.
Oddly enough, that's different from the tracklisting here: http://therecoveryposition.bandcamp.c ... deluxe-edition-mini-album

I'm not sure that's the title. That piece of artwork is the only reference I've found to that name, and it looked fan-made to me. It's not on their official site or anything. They're very hard to search though since their name means something else .

I'm really surprised that this song was uploaded on August 10, 2011, but we never heard about it.

No problem - would have done it sooner if I had logged in over the weekend.
I'll still transcribe any new Heather songs, as always.
