Thanks !

Btw, as 57Arietis said, lyrics are really hard to remember, so not having to thing about the chords is a nice balance for my little brain.
When O write this song, I meant it to be played with some other musician, whose purpose would be to break the musical monotony. I hope I will play with someone again soon.

I'm very proud of the lyrics. but unfortunately, it's totally untranslatable.

It's quite hard to remember indeed, for a name with another (or with 3 others) make sense, but the whole thing isn't definitely a story.

Indeed, we started over several times just because I got lost and sung the wrong name (which wouldn't necessarily have been noticeable, but distracted me and led me to wrong notes or a blank in the singing.

It's made of sentences just made out names.

One more, in French, just like almost all of my songs : my Facebook page

For the previous song, i forgot to thank Cass, who helps me each time I write a song in English, pointing the mistakes or the weaknesses in the lyrics, which helps me to improve the whole thing.

You're so nice, with the comment about my accent ! I blamed myself for losing so much on this point, this afternoon, but when I read that it's "lovely", it helps me being ok with it.

Hi !

Today, a new session, in English this time. The problem is that I need to have a real conversation in English to get back a decent accent, and I hadn't had any real conversation before recording... so the accent is bad, and it annoys me quite a bit. Still the song is not bad, I guess, and I took some Heather words here and there.

I noticed that today, so remove my asnwxer from Gerd's post an pasted my reply in a proper post.

If I am going to see a pub owner, and say "hey, I can come and play gig in your pub" and give him a deo with a lot of midi instruments, the bar owner won't know what it's like to have me playing in his pub : will I come with some other musicians ? Midi background ? Or just my guitar, but what will it sound like ?

If I come with demos like those on Facebook, what he hears is what he gets, which is much better for the pusposes I seek for now.

Yes, I remember midi was very convenient when we did recordings a decade ago.

Now, I need organic demos, in order to show people who might ask me to play in their pubs or so what it's like if I play live.

You should use the piano more often. It gives incredible class to the beginning of the song.

The rest is fine as well. Somewhat vintage, but really refreshing ; I like it.

I like See Yourself as well, at least for its music ; lyrically, I admit I'm not font of the "when you're broken it's alright" thing.

I quite or really like every song you mention, but I think I could easily find 20 HN songs from previous albums that I prefer. Well, I speak for now. I didn't spoil myself by listening to the recording, but I might change my mind after hearing Berit playing Rewild Me.

... she said something like Pearl being like Oyster (same producer, same sound) ut even better because containing better songs.

The explanation is simple : she wrote most of the songs at the beginning of a great relationship, when she was happy as can be, she started arranging the songs with her boyfriend (in the best circumstances possible), she recorded the album with her boyfriend and other people she likes very much. She spent an amazing time, and thus is very enthusiastic.

Personally, I have mixed feelings : I can enjoy listening to the album for its global sound, for its electric guitar, and for being able to listen almost as a whole (I only skip Experts), I like some songs a lot, Rewild Me, Some Things, and I like some others (Over The Fields, All The Rivers), but if I try to make my Heather top 20 songs, there will probably be no Pearl. Unless we classify liver versions, and the tour is so great that we adore live versions, of course.

That is why I still put Pearl higher than my less liked albums (the general sound is fine), but neither in my favorite ones (there are no amazing songs). IMO, of course.

The article has a link to Pearl's wikipedia page. On the wikipedia page, Pearl is presented as an kind of Oyster II. I thought about our conversations here.

Not that I expect a lot of TJF songs on a full band tour, but no songs from two of my favourite albums is disappointing. And there are definitely tracks from Redbird, which would fit very well for this tour, e.g. Overturned. Not one of my dearest songs, but it's good and hardly ever played. Or Redbird itself.
Would be nice to hear Ruby Red again, too, not to mention some Glowstars songs...

Yes, it's a pity there is no glowstars songs.

Heather Nova said, more or less, that when she did the recent Oyster tour, she enjoyed it a lot, and she realized that rocking had missed her, and that's why she wanted a rock album, an album that would song like oyster = rock and cello, and Youth for producer. OK.

On Oyster tours, there were no (musically) "smooth" songs like Sea Glass or I Wanna Be your Light, nor classic safe-pop songs like London Rain or like Lovers Do (London Rain was taken for music in Dawson, a teenage series, because it fits to the radio pop rock codes).

In Oyster tour, there were loud rock songs and acoustic songs with a cello. So, there's a room for Motherland, for example (and Shaking The Doll, but I doubt Heather will play again), and even for a (very) few Redbird songs : I Miss My Sky and Overturned.

I don't say that jut because London Rain, Like Lovers Do and I Wanna Be Your Light are not my favourite. I Wanna Be Your Light is a song I don't appreciate, but when played on an acoustic or semi-acoustic tour, I can't complain, it fits to the setlist and to the tour. London Rain, on a Redbird tour is just normal. And so on. But when she has a Berit, they can rock ! And when she has a cellist (she will, in autumn), she can pick up songs when the cello has a bigger place !

Well, I'm eager for the autumn tour to start anyway.

In order to let Berit amaze us once again, I'd suggest replacing Like Lovers Do by Just Been Born, London Rain by Make You Mine (or I'm The Girl ?, or even Iím Alive, with its short but powerful break ?), Higher Ground by Do Something That Scares You, See Glass and I Wanna Be Your light by something that leaves the occasions for the musicians to express their talent.
With adding a few very calm songs so we can fully enjoy the cello.

Thanks to our member Cyrille, I saw the video of the only song containing a hard-to-find chord, and I could see what Heather is actually playing.
The bold line is what something that I read on Heather's fingers and I didn't know for sure if it was on purpose or a (nice) mistake, for it's quite strange considering the rest of the song (nice to hear, but strange that she does this at this very only line).

Heather Nova
SOME THINGS JUST COME UNDONE

Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2 x2

Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2
I took my beautiful son down to the ocean,
Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2
Some things just come undone, I said,
Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2
It's all swirling around in me, like I'm an ocean,
Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2
Some things just come undone, I said.

I took my beautiful boy down to the ocean,
Sometimes a change will come, I said,
His cheeks all rosy red and full of elation,
Sometimes a change will come, I said.
F Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2
I'm gonna make everythign okay.

I took my beautiful child down to the ocean,
Look up, up at the sky, I said,
His eyes reflecting light, all full of emotion,
I'm never gonna let you down, I said.
I'm gonna make everything okay.

My child, my beautiful son, I said, some things just come undone, I said,
Am Amsus2
Look up, up at the sky, I said, two homes better than
one, I said.
My boy, my beautiful son, I said, my boy, my beautiful son,
Should I cry or hold my emotion ? Should I cry or hold my emotion?
Which one is his salvation? Oh -

Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2

Oh, my mother inside, Oh, my mother inside,
Oh, my mother inside,
I'm gonna make everything okay.

Am Amsus2 Am Amsus2 x2

Some things just come undone, I said, Two homes are better than one, I said,
Oh, my beautiful son, I said, Some things just come undone, yeah.
Two homes are better than one, I said, Oh, my beautiful son,
Some things just come undone, Some things just come undone, I said.
Some things just come undone, yeah, Oh, my beautiful son,
Some things just come undone, Some things just come undone,
Some things just come undone.

Amsus2 or Emsus4/64 : 020210

Nice tune, nice chords ; it was a brilliant idea from Heather.
