@Estellem Do you like Jeanne Cherhal ?

I don't know what she's been doing recently.

I have her first albums, and I still like them after all the years.

One of her albums disappointed me, so I stopped following her at this time. But maybe I should get back to her work and see her more recent tracks.

Thank you so much for your interest in my work !!
The 3 tracks English single will be out next Friday everywhere. :)

It takes a week to have it out. At first, I planned the release of Les gens et moi, but when I saw that my songs in English were getting quite popular, I told myself that I should have them released too. I planned it a week later, so that I can start talking about it maybe on Sunday on Facebook, here and Twitter...

So, get ready for Friday, June, 19th !

It isn't about anything at all, eventually. The whole song is built with names who are like verbs.

It's like if an English songs was entirely like "While Mike Mills, Tom Waits". I guess there are not enough people with names like that (at least with the final "s", which make the sentence grammatically correct when you listen to it), but in French, with many, many, many hours of work, thoughts and researches, it did work.

See you tomorow on Itunes, deezer and such.

I doubt Soundcloud miracle will happen again (more than 6000 listenings in the last 24 hours) but we'll see. The more, the better.

Law differs from one country to another, but in France, being on paying platforms allows me to join the society who will protect legally my author rights on my songs.
AND it's considered as a kind of proof that I exist as an artist.

I should have seen her live a few days ago, but the concert was of course cancelled due to Covid.

Ondine Horseas is a singer songwriter many of you will probably like. She has a beautiful voice, plays her guitar, and dings songs that deal with the sea...

Well, now that some songs are online, I'll get the authorization to legally protect the rights of all of them.

I'll have to get some of my English songs protected.

Then, on Heather next crowfunding, I'll be able to ask to have one of the covered.

Instagram is more difficult, for I don't have a smartphone.

Thanks for making me discover Bandcamp. If I'm not out on it on Friday, I'll add myself on it. Imusician will make put the songs on dozens of streaming sites. we'll see.

Yes, it's very exciting.

It's something like a sign that all the time spent in creating, wondering, improving has existed. I've been telling I'm making songs for 15 years, so it's wonderful to get something real at last, something that exists.

Still, it's a demo. It's guitar/voice, and it has its imperfections (sound quality if quite professional, but the singer is not ).

But anyway. It's great news.

Yes, it is.

I listened to my Alain Souchon CDs very, very , very much during several years, and almost never during years and years after that.

A few years ago, a guy who opened a concert ended its opening act with a cover of Alain Souchon. I still remembered the lyrics, it moved me, and I realized that everytime i hear Alain Souchon, wherever, I'm moved, and the memory starts to travel into my teens. Not the best part of my life, btw .

By the way, the madeleine is a cake, indeed, but also a symbol ofa memory that reaches you without you asking for it, as Proust dealt with in In Search Of Lost Time.

Wikipedia will explain at the bottom of the page :
madeleine - wiki

And Madeleine is also a first name ; that's why the title of the song would be, in English "My Madeleine is called Alain" (which is a bit funny, for Madeleine is of course a girl's name and Alain, a boy's name).

Yes, Alain Souchon is a singer very well known in France, both "mainstream" but also very gifted. His lyrics look simple but are also deep, and contain artistic and literary links, which is probably why he is so popular among so much and so different people.

Thanks.

Thanks

Btw, having the lyrics done has been a nightmare. Finding the right words has been incredibly difficult. But in the end, I'm happy with it.

Guess who forgot to translate Mamie ? Sorry.

A new song on my facebook today :

Estellem - Facebook

Any French dude will know Alain Souchon. You probably don't. But in France, our dads listened to Alain Souchon. And some made us listening.
In the end, pretty much songwriter of my age or a bit older grew up listening to Alain Souchon. I id grew up listening to Alain Souchon. In so many ways.

Thanks ! A nice word about my voice is always a pleasure, especially when he comes from someone with a beautiful voice like you !

Seems that you're not alone on HNN to be curious about Mamie. I'll translate it, and try to do it soon, otherwise, I'll forget.

I've been waiting for the last two we recorded for 4 weeks now ; the sound engineer is suppose to send them to me, master. I hope I can have a little EP, at last.

You've got a beautiful, warm, voice.

I wanted to suggest a capo, because your high notes sound especially good (and it seems that in the beginning you're at your down-notes limit), but the high notes are very high, so I doubt it's possible to sing even higher.

I had a pleasant day indeed, and should have a pleasant one tomorrow to. Kids woke up and went to bed later and later the past few days, so everyone should be able to be up at midnight.

I was delighted to hear 2 Glow Stars songs in Turnhout.

Redbird and South seem to be the forgotten albums. Either Heather knows the fans aren't found of them, or she doesn't connect to the songs any more.

Heather hadn't played Save A Little Piece For Tomorrow that much, but I guess the willing to have a rock set perfectly fitted to the song. Personally, I don't listen to it on the album (well, I barely don't listen to 300 Days any more), but I really like it live.

Near my hometown, I once played on the very same stage Heather did (she did almost 20 years ago). If she returned there, I' stalk the boss of the place until she lets me open for her .

(Well, I more than doubt that she ever returns)
