If Estelle (and Vincent cos you can see him as well) agrees, I will then upload it and post the link here.

Hey, that's nice !

En attendant, heureusement que ça existe, la lexicologie, parce que sans ce cours rien en serait sans doute arrivé !

Well, I wasn't listening so much to Heather at the moment I started writing my songs, so I don't think her music has much inluence on me. i listened to her a lot when I discovered her, more Siren and South stuff (I was young...) and since i saw her in the Bataclan last october (when I finally have become able to appreciate blow, glows stars, oyster and Storm as much as they deserve it). And Siren songs like I'm Alive, which i hardly notice at the age of 18 but which is now my favorite on the album... or Blood of Me.. Between these two periods, I haven't listebed much to her.

All I can say is I've been listening much to young French artists often alors on stage with a piano or so, singing not to express their feelings but to tell a story or to make the audiance laugh.

For this song, maybe the music hadn't benn the same if I hadn't heard of Ryan Adams' cover af the Oasis song Wonderwall... the rythm and the softness are quite the same.

And I am not used to express my feelings while I'm writing, because I can't make art or something i am happy of with them. This might change, though ; I have been listening so much to HEather this last year...

Well, now somebody said loud and clear that I am ma, Gercd can rename the topic as Estellem...

Estelle Mathieu is my real name but it sounds a bit like Mireille Mathieu ; I'm not related to her and I'm not very proud we both have the same name !

Congratulatin for the ticket, ans congratulations to PAris, who idn't make many mistakes when he put the lyrics on thread ; but they are on my website too.

Reading your comments, I'd never find out you don't like these songs.

I don't like only Human either...

But I am very fond of the three others and I'm prefectly OK with what you said.

What album comes next ?

South might be boring to do, because most af the songs deal with the same thing... she may have had problems with her husband at that time...

If now, Gerd acts like my dad and JC starts acting like my mum, i can say HNN members take much much care of me !!

Of course, you have more posts than me ; you're cheating by posting three times instead of one ! :)

But yes, I have been living in Amiens for one month now, and the catherdral is veeeeeery beautiful (JC, come here to see it !)

btw, we should rename the topic as "Jc's names an Anna's songs". It would be more logical.

Yeah, i havce a quite common name too, and I'm happy of it ; no one makes a opinion just hearing it, and such a name leaves more space to YOU and what you are.

Btw, teachers notice that you often have much more problems with pupils with strange names ; i don't know why but it's a true fact...

Whhen you're being bor or before your birth, your parents don't know how you will be. So i think it's wiser to give a name that will fit with anything you might want to become and any kind of life, and if you want to be more original when you get older, you can always choose a surname, for when your friends speak to you (and your pseudo on the INternet )

Most of them will be 16 years old this school year, they are in "Seconde" = 2nd, which means two years left before the Baccalauréat (French Abitur). And only one year ( about 20 months, now) before they go to French Abitur tests.

It is their first year in High school.

I'm a French teacher, so we work a lot on French litterature, and I try to hep them to write without mistakes. But grammar and so should be banished from High school, to study only litterature... so I can healp them for grammar very often !

Anyway, here we are :
Héloïse, Hélène, élodie, Mathilde, Justine, Flora, Lucie, Camille, Alizée, ALine, Claire, Margot, Emeline, Caroline (i have both), Juliette, Albane and Charlotte.

I had a Marine, but she left this high school.

Let's hope they won't find out this post, I don't know what they would think of me...

Ok, i listenend to the song and this

The one thing i learned could fit sometimes, but the sentence Heather sings is a bit longer ; could it be "the one thing I've ever learnt" or something like this ?

After "Doesn't take that much..." (although I may prefer "doesn't tell a lie") i must confess my French ear hears "mon amour" (= my love), but it might be a bit strange.

"Butterflies won't fly away", which i found on always on the run, is strange but seems to fit in.

At the end of the 1st verse, it must be "but if i could" as she adds "I would".

"What if the sun comes up tomorrow" seems to fit perfectly !!

For the drive away drive aya the the end, i maintain anything like "all I want" at the beginnig of the line and the other thing (I can't remember) in the end.

But whatever both of us managed to come a little closer, and maybe we can improve this lyrics again ?

Yeah, Estelle is a French name.

I like it with its three "e" in the begining, in the end and in the middle, its to L (in French, L is prounoucend like "wings" ->"ailes", so it's rather cool to have two) on the right and the Eats (Est) in French) on the left (-> and I come from the East of France).

(Adding the "m" of my family name in the end, on the net, alows me to let ring the third and last "e").

This name (mine !) comes from Latin : Stella ; it means "star". Spanish have "Estrella" if I'm not misataken (both language didn't obey to the same linguistic laws so the name didn't changed the same way). English-speaking kepts Stella, and I don't really know for the others indo-european tongues. Logically, it would be something like Estella in Italy. But for this name, I prefer by far the French version.

My parents of course didn't think at all about all this when they choos my name ! They just liked the sound.

Anyway, if I had a girl, I'love to call her Alice.

Thanks again ! just like you, I don't know what she really meant there, she'd probably said the wrong word.

Anyway, I can't really understand the exact meanng of the third verse, even in blow, but i like it a lot.

Just to bad Heather don't like that song anymore.
